I'm just surprised people expect us to be concerned about this book burning thing. Do you really think we were that coddling of Germans or Japanese when we nation built their countries? They had insurgencies too, but we did what we had to with the goal of maintaining order.

Nowadays, it's like some of you think we're just guests over there.

I prefer the latter, the hardships would be worth it, then if we made it as a country the result would be a paradise.

Burning books is not a good look burning the central text that unites a people is total lunacy,i don't agree with a word of moralistic crap that is the Koran .

Any soldier killed in Afghanistan from this is on Obama's head and the Generals that lead the troops.the USA has no buissness in Afghanistan other then Imperialist intrest's.

Those repulsive Radical Muslim terrorists were so devoid of unwashed brain cells that they willfully targeted and then murdered innocent civilians from all over the world. Any one or group of 'people' that could commit such an atrocity i.e. slaughtering thousands of every race of human, every religious type of person including devout Muslims should be hunted down and righteously summarily executed post haste!!! Then the remaining terrorists, their trainers and everyone associated with assisting them should meet the same fate. That should be the immutable policy of the USA. Afghanistan was meant to be an example . If there is another attack the retribution should be even MORE severe and unrelenting. Those monsters that programmed the perpetrators of every 9/11 style attack or bombing attacks understand only ONE thing, tit for tat, and tit that picks up speed before the lead taps the sub human terrorists in the head.

It was an accident, and the Americans were attempting to dispose of the books as per ritual. That is FAR MORE than they do for us. As I said to appease these nuts are to invite disaster. We should not apologize for a mistake. Obama must go!

None of us here control our own nation's foreign policy. If any of us were that important or powerful, we wouldn't be killing time at a forum.

But you're right. What's going in Afghanistan really has no connection to me. That's part of why I don't really care if we burn a few books or bomb a few remote villages.

I'd prefer that we leave, but whether we stay or leave has little to no effect on my personal life.

Granted, attacking us isn't smart either, since we've got far better weapons than everyone else. You might kill a few of our soldiers, but then we kill hundreds of other people. We try to limit it to killing insurgents, but obviously, some civilians get blown to bits. That's just the way war is.

The difference is your point of view, from which side of the issues you stand. Santorum is nuts, stupid and a religious extremist. Is there a worse combination of attributes for a leader? OBL had one attribute over on Santorum, Osama wasn't stupid.
