    I believe the US military has been making the world a worse place for the past 70 years. If that makes me a coward then so be it. I'm a little too grown up to be swayed by peer pressure.

    Hillbilly… while I agree with you about too many tours, I disagree with you on re-instating the draft. The draft was horrible. The last thing I would want when I was in, is someone who got drafted and didn’t care with me when I was on post.. I couldn’t imagine that – probably shoot him myself to get another jarhead on the wall before I risked my life for a civvy who didn’t give a crap about country or corps…

    Its pretty much true.

    The military is like 80% right and like 20% left, but the military left is much closer to the middle....

    As an American Veteran, who served in MEDDAC during the first gulf war, just let me kindly say, ummm what was just quoted above is complete Bull.

    Here is why A, there is no need for a draft we have more than enough VOLUNTEERS to do the job.

    B. When there was a draft there were in fact far more instances of such atrocities comitted by individuals, who not only snapped because they could'nt deal with the fact of life that is or lets just say, come with military service, and who should have never been in military service to start with.

    The military IS NOT for everyone. Just as teaching, or being a surgeon or NBA star player, is NOT for everyone.

    Just as for example, being POTUS is not for liberal leftist socialists like Obama.

    A volunteer force allows us to screen for, and hopefully, weed out those individuals who do not belong in military service in the first place, this is why we have a little thing called commonly as "BOOT CAMP" though I do admit there are issues there today, which could allow some who don't belong in the military to start with, to slip through the cracks, thanks to liberal interference and corruption with that screening process, but I digress.

    Funny you say that – I was in the Corps and “all” of my friends voted Democrat… Funny – you are a righty… did you serve? Didn’t think so.

    Also, when I was in… word had it that the Army and Navy would be told by their CO how to vote. If the Commander and Chief was about to cut military spending and was a Republican, you better believe you’re going to get a flood of Democratic votes…

    You're god (*)(*)(*)(*) right I'm scared to fight for something I don't believe in. Who isn't?

    I am not dieing for a cause I believe is wrong. Period.

    Unlike most people in the military I don't believe big pearly gates are waiting for me. Once I die I die. That's it. I go to sleep and never dream and never wake up.

    I plan on living until I'm 150. And no government is going to get in the way of that plan.

    That's fine if you are too scared to serve in the military. Just admit to cowardice instead of putting up a false front of moral indignation. It's so transparent it is insulting. You wouldn't serve no matter how right the cause was, just admit it.
