Too bad . I'll personally vote for a politician that has the balls to run on a " you have to be a citizen taxpayer " platform . You don't pay in ,you don't get payout .

Why do you hate kittens so much?

We are just making (*)(*)(*)(*) up about each other, right? Assigning each other false positions and then arguing against them?

So tell me, what is it about kittens that makes you dislike them so very much?

In this day and age, how do you operate without a form of ID?

This is the insanity coming from the left. Trying to get Americans on board by whining about showing an ID to vote is how goofy the left has gotten. Fortunately most Americans find this to be insanely irresponsible

Kinda hard to get an ID when one is dead but their vote counts just the same.

I'm guessing the left thinks anyone illegal or not should vote and as many time as needed.

Thank you for cutting through the fat.

Requiring an ID reduces voter fraud in every party.

    - - - Updated - - -

Yes. Strict voter laws have in fact led to higher participation rates for minorities voting.

Have they? Where in your piece is that conclusion supported?

Furthermore, your piece goes up to 2012, and utterly ignores the current election process in Texas.

Wow; how many 'excuses' can a person pack into one complaint? Reminds me of the kid who says, "the dog ate my homework." So....bottom line is it wasn't important enough for him to spend $30 to get it done, right? He only needed to renew his Driver's License. Obviously he's out there driving on an "expired" drivers license....meaning he's one of those costing the state and other citizens so much money because when they bang into OUR car, they have no insurance. I can't help a person who makes excuses for everything and doesn't act responsibly He had plenty of time....and if voting was really important to him, he would have gotten it done.

Sorry....but everybody else did what was required, he has no valid excuse.

Duh. She is NOT a Texas resident! She is a Louisiana resident. And considering her own vote would be far more important in Louisiana where she might make a difference....she's rather stupid NOT to have gotten an absentee ballot and voted there....where she was supposed to vote???

It's not the poll workers job to inform him of Texas election laws about how to get the proper I.D. in advance. That was HIS job...and most people did it. More excuses.....one after another.

She first learned about the ID law when she tried to vote? Oh, come on. It's been front page news many, many times since then. Her sister who obviously dragged her out to the polls....couldn't do what was necessary in advance to get the FREE ID card? Come on......these excuses are just that, excuses.

See?? They did it. Now she's set for all future elections.

OH my God! They expected free postage too???? Okay....so he got to vote after all. Next time he'll know in advance what he needs to do and won't wait until the last minute to get it done.

YES, help has ALWAYS BEEN AVAILABLE. And it's been advertised, in newspapers and local tv stations since the new law went into effect. I cannot help it if some people wait until the last minute to get it done.

BTW, I've moved around a lot in my lifetime....had to live in other states for work purposes. EACH and EVERY time one of the first things I did when I was getting that state's Driver's License and changing residency information, I always made sure I got the instructions for that state's voting and went through whatever I had to in order to get that voter I.D. card required of that state. You don't wait until the last minute! The new Texas I.D. cards were furnished to people FREE of charge...all they had to do was get it done in advance of voting day.

Are you refuting the findings in the article?

Do other states require an ID in order to vote?

Is this now required in Texas?

Right on JP. Keep those minorities and poor from voting, right? right? I mean for (*)(*)(*)(*)s sake, if you do not have money, you should not be voting, right? Right? Or if you are a resident attending school in Texas, you should not be voting, right?

I applaud your candor at stating that these folks should indeed be disenfranchised.

Great post. Odd, isn't it.....how they only start the whining when they are getting their butts kicked in a specific election. Hey....they managed to get out the vote for Obama then....but now, all of a sudden, "Wha, wha, wha, 'they' are keeping us from voting."

No, I am refuting the conclusions you reached form the article, and the relevance of the article.

I quoted that verbatim from the article.

    Please read it.

That is the conclusion I drew at seeing the glee you expressed at ensuring the poor and minorities could not vote.

You are happy that these folks were too poor to vote, correct? that the law worked exactly as designed, that being keeping the fringe that may vote Democrat from voting, correct? That fringe having Hispanic sounding names, being black, and apparently being the working poor.

    Think, please read.

These 3 paragraphs are from the middle of the article.

"In several states, the black voting rate exceeds that of whites! The states in shades of green had a higher rate of black voter turnout than white.

States like Tennessee, Georgia, and Indiana, with strict photo ID laws in effect, had greater participation rates among blacks in 2012. So whatever purportedly “racist” ID laws are being put into place there are not having much of an impact.

Minority voter turnout has steadily increased since 1996 – and was higher than white turnout in 2012 – and nearly every time these laws have been challenged in the courts they have been upheld."

Are you just being contrarian for contrarian's sake?

I read your article. Is that not clear? I read it prior to you telling me to read it.

Now, have we established that I have read it?

I simply do not think it supports your claims not has any relevance to the current vote in Texas.

An id isn't that much. Most people spend more on entertainment or cigarettes.
