    No, it's not simplistic.

It's the core of what freedom is all about.

Dutch, here's one of those "That's irrelevant!!!!!!!" Questions Trump fans will be facing-

"How many times has Donald Trump declared bankruptcy?"

He's more liberal than you think.

He talks a good game, but once in office you will be disappointed.

No, actually it isn't. The Founding Fathers had flintlocks and such that took 30-60 seconds to load one round.

They're now spinning in their graves at the notion that they were thinking about the eventuality of AR-15's and such when they wrote the second amendment.

You do realize the majority of Trump's own products are made in China right?

Now, why do democrats support illegal immigration when they know for a fact it will hurt the constituents they claim to support and defend?

Those flintlock rifles were the best weapons technology available at the time, and they did not want laws to be made that prevented citizens from owning them. They didn't live in a time where the state had all sorts of weapons that the civilian population was not allowed to have. If anything, they are rolling in their graves that we are not allowed to own bazookas and nuclear weapons.

Assault weapons are already banned. In another thread you confused a semi-auto AR-15 with a fully automatic AK-47. I get the impression that you are in favor of banning guns, despite not knowing a whole lot about them.

But as for the topic of this thread, I don't see a problem with Trump running. If a self-described socialist can run for President, why not Trump? Neither will win the nomination, anyway.

I'll take a successful businessman over a career politician any day. Many who laugh at Trump keep voting the same party, for the same politicians, while those politicians build up their own bank accounts and give in to special interest. It's time for a 4-year shakeup.

Then why would you want trump?

I agree, but a twice bankrupted birther is not the answer.

Incorrect... and this has been debunked time and time again. The Founding Fathers wanted "We the People" to have the same standard firearm as the light infantry troop. Which is similar to the AR-15.

Do you think it's actually possible to exede clown escapade duo of Obama and Biden? Doubtful. In any case, if Trump runs and turn out to be clown, the joke is on him. In case of Obama/Biden clowns, the joke was on us Americans :wall:

And at that time, the army was using the same exact weapons as were available to the ordinary citizen.

In fact, the ordinary citizen was more equipped than the soldier was. That's why the militias played such a big role in determining the outcome the of revolutionary war.

The founding fathers saw the technological advancement of weapons during their entire lifetime and still didn't put any restrictions in the second amendment. Why?

Heck, there were ships ladened with cannons and they still didn't prohibit the ordinary citizen from owning a ship or canon. Why?

That would be a softball question that Trump will never get.

Lincoln, Jefferson, Grant, McGovern, McKinley... Trump would be in good company!

He is successful today. If he can climb back from bankruptcy maybe he can bring the U.S. back from bankruptcy.

Yep, it is all a publicity stunt. Nothing more, nothing less.

First we get this idiocy of a Clinton / Bush runoff, and the clown car loads of usual suspects, and the baboon bringing up the rear.

Please somebody wake us up, this nightmare is way too scary.

So long as Trump obeys articles of incorporation and ByLaws of the United States (the Constitution) he'll do just fine.

Because you needed many of those weapons, especially firearms, in order to tend to your day-to-day survival. Guns were a mandatory part of life back then, for protection and even for hunting for food. We don't live in that world anymore.

Now don't get me wrong, I support the 2nd, and I support CCW laws. I don't support open carry or unlimited access to whatever weapons you want. Assault weapon ban is fine with me, and I'm talking about real assault weapons, not the ones that look like them. I don't see a problem with semi-auto rifles since not all semi-auto rifles are even in a class that could be confused with an assault rifle. But you don't need a fully automatic military style rifle or anything at all bigger than that. And yes, I did decide that, and I will support bans that say as much. I also support background checks, no firearms for felons who committed a violent crime, gun lock laws, gun-free zones, and even the waiting period.

I will support the 2nd amendment until such time as we as a country can be 100% that those who would use weapons for ill also cannot get them. I don't see that ever happening though, so I don't see myself ever not supporting the right to own guns.

He's a business man, not a jobs czar. Make him the jobs guru and turn him loose. I really have confidence that he would do very well bringing jobs back to this country if he was tasked with doing so.

And this is why people don't buy what you sell.

You sit around complaining about Obama....

And then try to sell us Donald Frickin Trump.

That's a credibility killer if there ever was one.

I honestly see leadership characteristics in Trump that surprise me.

He appears to have a back bone, so I doubt he'd be elected.

What legislative branch does he have to deal with as CEO? The roles of President and CEO are not comparable.

They are exactly the same. As for legislative branch... Do you know what the board is and what it does?

Dude, one guy is considered a pretty darn good success, the other guy is considered the worst ever at his profession. Are there better candidates than Trump? I believe so. But Obama is out of Trump's league, he even has a better looking wife who knows her place.
