I take it you are referring to this opinion piece...
    http://www.latimes.com/opinion/op-ed/la-oe-raimondo-trump-derangement-syndrome-20161226-story.html

To show that I am guilty of "intellectual laziness", you just throw out the latest and greatest Pro-Trump catch phrase coined by an Ultra-Conservative Right Wing Blogger. That's not surprising.

You didn't offer up any of your own intellectual comments. That's not surprising either.

Trump was clearly right about Sweded.

“Swedish police on Tuesday were investigating a riot that broke out overnight in a **predominantly immigrant** suburb in Stockholm after officers arrested a suspect on drug charges.

The clashes started late Monday when a police car arrested a suspect and people started throwing stones at them in Rinkeby, north of Stockholm. Unidentified people, including some wearing masks, also set cars on fire and looted shops.” RIOT IN STOCKHOLM SUBURB AFTER DRUG SUSPECT IS ARRESTED, ASSOCIATED PRESS, 2/21/17 (** mine)

I'm referring to nothing more than to make a equivalency between Hitler and Trump is irrational and can only be described as derangement. To do so denies the reasons for Trump's win in the Presidential election and implies that those who support him are akin to the followers of Hitler. That's intellectual laziness.

You are OK with the fact that Trump did not take the time to check with his advisers.

Worse yet, according to your interpretation:
    • Trump watched FOX at night, relaxing after a hard days work.
    • Trump saw in interview with a film-maker.
    • Fox showed some clips from the film.
    • One of the clips showed something burning.
    • Trump believed that the clips were an actual event that was taking place right then.
    • The next day Trump stood before his adoring fans and said - "Look at what happened last night in Sweden".

According to your interpretation Trump can't tell the difference between a movie clip shot some time in the past - being shown as part of an interview and an actual event happening right now.

I would not want you as my defense attorney - unless you want to have me plead innocence due to insanity.

Yes, it was an infantile and lazy tactic then and it still is now. Do you disagree?

Since you guys claim you are looking for TRUTH...

...time for you to realize that comparisons of Trump to Hitler are a lot closer to TRUTH...than any ideas that he plans to "drain the swamp."

Trump is in this for himself...not for the citizens of this country.

In fact, Trump's attacks on the MSM are energetic and very effective. Which is why the house organs of the political class are bouncing off walls over them.

    About what?

How many times did we hear Obama mention that that he first heard about a news story was in the press?

LOL Pretty sure Mexicans aren't invading Germany.

    Absolutely!

    http://www.unz.com/akarlin/immigrant-crime-in-germany/

Thanks for the history lesson but it doesn't change the reality the violence is being imported in these countries. These people share noi culture with their host countries and their religion dominates their social lives as well.

Sweden seems to be moving towards Trump's position on immigration now.

"Mr. Trump is not the only person pointing to what he considers to be the troubling consequences of immigration to Sweden. This month, a seasoned investigator with the police department in Orebro, Peter Springare, caused a stir with a Facebook posting in which he discussed the case files on his desk.

“What I’ve been handling Monday-Friday this week: Rape, rape, serious rape, assault rape, black mail, black mail, assault in court, threats, attack against police, threats against police, drugs, serious drugs, attempted murder, rape again, black mail again and abuse,” Mr. Springare said. He went on to list the first names of the people he said were suspects, all but one of which were traditionally Middle Eastern.

The post, which was shared 20,500 times, led to an outpouring of support. People sent hundreds of flowers to Mr. Springare’s police station, and more than 170,000 people joined a Facebook group supporting him.” NYT, Sweden, Nation of Open Arms, Debates Implications of Immigration, By MARTIN SELSOE SORENSENFEB. 24, 2017

Not being able to see it...

    ...is "selective blindness."

I'm hoping you don't ever find out how wrong you are. We all know how that worked out for Germany in 1945.

I never said Donald Trump was Hitler reincarnated.

    You said that!

    What I said was:

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to say it again.

Hitler did not push for smaller government. Dictators do not do that.

But you do have a point about the "Drain The Swamp" promise. Where are the grand jury investigations?

Just more of the same derangement. It is somewhat reassuring that reincarnation is not part of the syndrome.

Denial of the assertion that Trump and Hitler are one in the same is demonstrable. But keep up the deranged assertion that Trump is Hitler. You've made your point.

The swamp Trump refers to is the regulatory bureaucracies. Charles Murray has written an interesting book about those bureaucracies and how to deal with them - "By the People - Rebuilding Liberty without Permission" - 2015. It describes the history behind the courts deferring to the experts in these bureaucracies and the abusive mechanisms which have evolved from that deferral by which the bureaucracies internalize prosecution and judicial functions. And a way to change this system. When JFK was President ~ 76% of the people trusted the gov to do the right thing. Now that percentage is ~ 13%.

First, a comment on the actual topic of the thread:

Donald Trump did NOT "clarify" his Sweden comment...he pretended it was not a mistake (apparently he cannot own up to a mistake)...and offered that nonsense instead.

    Anyway:

I cannot even imagine what you were trying to sell with that contorted comment, AFM, but it is NO SALE.

Unusual that you vacillate between variations of "Trump and Hitler are not alike" and "Trump is Hitler reincarnated."

    Weird!

I've never said Trump is Hitler. (Actually, Hitler appears to have been more intelligent.)

But...keep up pretending that I have asserted what in fact, you have asserted.

    That makes one of us.

I'm just pointing out the manifestations of Trump Derangement Syndrome.

The day after Trump's statement there was a riot in "little Mogedisha" in which 4 - 5 cars went up in flames.

First, a comment about the actual topic of the thread.

It is amazing to me that Trump, his communications team, and his supporters feel a necessity to try to rationalize what appears to be a very minor mistake...rather than simply saying it was a mistake...USING THOSE WORDS.

What does that remind me of???

I appreciate that and I thank you for doing it, AFM. Please continue. It gives me the opportunity to point out the depth of the denial in which Trump supporters have to live.

Ahhh...so when he said "look what happened last night"...he actually meant "look what happened tomorrow."

    Whew!

I imagine some Germans back in the 1930's probably insisted that Hitler was a blond haired, blue eyed Aryan...but that the fake media made it look as though he had dark hair and eyes.
