We're still going on with empty threats about getting Trump removed from office I see. Republicans need only 51 votes so you better get your aloe vera ready. And as far as loseing any majority they hold, let me know when the Democrats get a message then maybe they stand a chance. Four speical elections sound familiar?

You might want to read the explicit language of the constitution before your commit yourself to such as asinine declaration of your wrongness, particularly the 12th word in Article III, Section II

Please provide proof the Senate doesn't approve or disapprove of a nomination. You seem to be majorly confused.

All of the threats against Trump such as impeachment( which on a side note there is zero evidence to support a move and the dems lost support when they brought that up too) Killing him and members of his family, the list goes on with this crap.

    Only 36 percent support Trump.

    That's a start.

    All those Carrier workers...

"And by the way, that number is going to go up very substantially
as they expand this area, this plant," Mr. Trump said. "So the 1,100
is going to be a minimum number."

    HAHAAHAHAHAH!

Trump won Indiana by 20%. They couldn't all have been tied to a few hundred jobs at Carrier.

As for Kennedy, except on the gay stuff, he has mostly been a conservative libertarian so his retirement and Trump replacing him won't change that much with the make up of the court other than that his libertarian gene was stronger than his conservative gene.

    Wow...reduced to name calling?
You should have kept reading the rest of the sentence.

"The judicial Power shall extend to all Cases, in Law and Equity(12) , arising under this Constitution. The job of the USSC is different than the rest of the judiciary.

    The Founders' View
The Framers of the Constitution felt members of Congress had an obligation to interpret the Constitution. This might strike some as surprising. We live in an age in which constitutional interpretation is felt by many to be the sole responsibility of the federal judiciary. Certainly those who created our Constitution and served in public office during the early years of the Republic felt that the courts did indeed exist to give meaning to the laws and the Constitution. Moreover, the doctrine of judicial review - the authority of the Supreme Court to determine the constitutionality of laws passed by Congress, was not invented out of whole cloth by Chief Justice John Marshall, as some have argued, but has intellectual roots that reach back deep into English legal thought and were espoused by such Framers as Alexander Hamilton and James Madison.

But to say the courts exist to give meaning to the laws and the Constitution is not to embrace the idea that only courts can give meaning to the laws and the Constitution. Similarly, while the Framers felt the courts would be the final arbiters of constitutional questions, they did not feel judges would be the sole arbiters of constitutional questions. Courts existed to settle legal and constitutional questions but not to silence debate in the legislative or executive branches over such questions.

    http://www.heritage.org/the-constit...d-the-constitution-has-congress-abdicated-its

The USSC is not here to legislate, but to be the arbiter of the Constitutionality of laws duly legislated.

The Supreme Court hears cases in equity no matter how much you want to pretend that they only exist to hear cases at law. Apparently you fail to realize that "English legal thought" means "English Common Law". Common Law is judge made law, something that you allege doesn't exist.

"Judge made law" is exactly what the Constitution exists to prevent.

Unelected officials are not allowed to legislate in the US. Which is why we need to disinfect the judiciary from activist judges who delude otherwise. (BTW-Cases in EQUITY refers to cases OUTSIDE of Common Law.)

    Read the Federalist papers.

Please do not pretend you're missing my point - you're better than that. But let me rephrase anyway - Republicans in Senate approve nomination.

    Better? :)

More partisanship. Less moderation. This is the end of the republic and the start of one party dictatorship.

The Dems fixation on resistance, and their unwillingness to negotiate, or as in the case of the CBC, even meet with Trump, is having a disastrous effect. Their abdicating their political influence and creating a totalitarian GOP regime. It could be YEARS before investigations conclude, and the DNC hasn't won a race since beginning the resistance. 2018 = super majority? Enjoy that.

The Dems are dominating the news cycle. They're gaining some traction, and leverage on AHCA. ACA has got to be overhauled, it isn't a question. Muellers hires should have encouraged Dems to shift gears. I'm a centerist at heart, and would rather see something more constructive happen in DC.
