Holy crap! Sessions needs to get on board with this and find all 'avenues' that might be available and get the ball rolling on this ASAP. I would pay good money to watch Moonbeam, de Blasio and Rahm perp walked.

If they start arresting the kings of sanctuary cities/states then this would be a major game changer.

(don't blame me for the title, I'm just following the rules)

Another win for state's right fans!

So what's next? Rounding up journalists that you don't agree with?

I prey to God that the DHS and DOJ go beyond prosecuting the city council members and mayors who ignored the U.S. Constitution and federal laws and turned their cities into shitholes or soon to be shitholes into sanctuary cities but also hunt down, apprehend and convict every member of the California state legislature and the lunatic Governor who signed into law making the entire state of California a sanctuary state.

Coming from a proud member of "team witch hunt, fishing expedition, impeach" this is quite ironic.

That being said, it's not we who disagree with sanctuary cities... if the law disagrees with them, to jail leftist law breakers go. Fair enough?

It is problematic; that delicate, uneasy balance...

There is nothing they can charge them for. Immigration is Federal Law Enforcement responsibility. States are not required to enforce federal law, only state law. These "sanctuary states/cities" are simply not using state/city funds to do federal LE's job.

No. Cutting off federal funds to the offending districts. No need to go crazy here. Cut the head of the snake off, the body dies.

Don't know if you have been living under a rock but states rights lost back in 1865 when the Democratic party refused to except the outcome of the Presidential election of 1860.

620,000 Americans died settling the question about states rights vs. the federal government.

The federal government trumps (no pun intended) states rights.

Do you want to refight the "War Between the States" ?

Be careful for what you wish for...the South could rise again.

Immigration law is not a right of the State.

Not exactly familiar with the US Constitution, are you?

They're only being asked to cooperate, not actually do any enforcement work.

States do not have to assist the federal government in enforcing federal law.
Your support of this, I am sure, only extends as far as how much you agree with the law(s) in question.

Beyond that, states' rights does not allow for obstruction of justice.

Actually, I think that was something the Left tried to do with talk radio. Clinton had a hard-on about Rush Limbaugh and, if I remember correctly, they tried to pass laws requiring stations to give equal time in the form of Liberl talk shows even though there was no audience for them. Net neutrality was another attempt along those lines.

The 1st Amendment usurps any and every war. There were Nazi sympathizer publications during WWII.

I don't think it was a declared war.

If it were have been a declared war, President Lincoln would have been an international war criminal.

In the North, President Lincoln, Congress and most of the press referred to the war as the "Great Rebellion" not a civil war for legal reasons.

It's all here. -> Constitution and the Laws of War during the Civil War, The Federal Courts, Practice & Procedure
