Just out of curiosity why would someone that is going to commit murder care about a unregistered gun charge? If a criminal is willing to break the largest law we have with murder and risk 25 to life in jail or possible even a death sentence then why would you think more laws are going to stop him?

Properly trained adults screw-up, properly trained adults commit crimes, properly trained adults abuse their authority....exceptions to the rule, but periodic occurrences none-the-less (i.e., the military, local and federal law enforcement). As I said before, you have documentation of the occasional teacher melt down, physically (if not emotionally) abusing kids, etc. Putting guns into the mix across the country is not a good idea.

Then you put forth a stupid question that displays willful ignorance.....criminals either buy guns on the black market, steal them or have an accomplice without a criminal record buy them. That is why I mentioned the "iron pipeline"...something you obviously did not read up on. The registration would be to aide the police to trace a weapon used in a crime...IF the serial numbers have not be effectively erased.

I can make the same argument for the professional security guards you advocate. But beyond that, when it comes to schools (and other soft targets) unfortunately guns are already “into the mix” as news headlines sadly show us with alarming frequency.

Thay said, in my observation rogue teachers are extremely rare.

The biggest advantage to teachers carrying concealed - as opposed to uniformed security - is the shooter has to walk into a situation knowing multiple responsible adults are armed - but he has no idea who - greatly increasing the odds in favor of the school.

Again, I can make that argument about anyone. And if a teacher is predisposed to violence why do you think a policy and a sign will prevent her from bringing her piece to school?

 

There is only one way to accomplish that - but the ACLU won’t let us do it.

 

And anyone with a grade school understanding of logic can understand that because you dont have to register your car, using the car registration/gun registration argument is flawed

yep make all guns illegal so that should keep them out of the hands of criminals.. like cocaine and heroin are illegal and we know criminals cant get drugs right?? oops..

They shouldnt have to! Nor should teachers have to learn how to shoot people. Many cops can’t master algebra..so what? It’s not their job
