Wyly, stop reading the MSM because you're very confused. The OSCE was guarding the Russian border, and they said that the volunteers coming in from Russia had on uniforms, but didn't have any arms. After they entered the Donbas, they would go to a depot and pick up a gun and then test it at another spot. Everything the Donbas militia had including tanks, came from the Ukrainian troops that surrendered.

When General Breedlove was screaming about a Russian invasion with tanks and men, the German Intelligence agents couldn't see them - nor could the American agents. According to the German 'Speigel', the General's mental health was questioned, and it was reported to his superior as such.

As for the Crimea, according to law Russia was allowed to keep 25 thousand troops at Sevastopol. When protesters from Crimea went to Maidan to support Yanukovich, their buses were stopped and burned by the Right Sector on the way back. The Crimeans were harassed for eight hours, and they killed 7. Some tried to escape, and 20 are missing and presumed dead.

The Right Sector told the protesters that they were coming to Crimea to do the same to the others. This is why the Crimean government declared their independence, and why they asked the Russian troops to protect them until a referendum could be held.

Russia's hold on Crimea was cemented 300 years ago. The Crimeans speak Russian, they conduct their business in Russian, they go to Russian schools, and they marry Russians.

And I have no problem about that Crimea is now Russia, I still wondered why it was not yet directly part of Russia after end of USSR. But I think Boris Yeltsin was at this time again too early drunken to realize and do it.

 

UN seems to be a useless organization. And where do we talk in this case if Ukraine blows up the bridge?

 

First of all, water and electricity weren't free. Ukraine sold it to Crimea for money.
And they (Ukraine) claim that Crimeans are their citizens. They say Crimeans suffer of occupation.
So, why they tried to starve, to exhaust thirst, and to deprive them of electricity the people who, they say, suffer of illegal occupation? Their own citizens? It's strange.

Aren't the majority of Crimean people ethnic RUSSIANS? I suspect that's the reason they voted overwhelmingly to reunify with Russia.

I also suspect that the reason the "armed green men" you refer to were present, was to provide security for the voting process and prevent any disruption.
