I'm Jay Runner, I'm a white man, and I approved this message: Jimmy Carter was unfit for the office of president.

The American Bar Association said Friday that it will reevaluate its high rating of Supreme Court nominee Brett M. Kavanaugh after his combative, tear-streaked Senate testimony last week, signaling doubts about the judge’s temperament.

“New information of a material nature regarding temperament” during the hearing prompted the reopening, the ABA said Friday.

The ABA committee that reviews federal judges awards ratings based on three criteria: integrity, professional competence and judicial temperament.

most of us will get to see and compare how Legacy/Left Media reacts to the deaths of two former presidents who served one term.

If their shameless slobbering over ally John "The Maverick" McCain is any guide, I have an idea how it will go.

Don't worry, he won't be indicted, much less convicted of what various emails and other documents show. I'm sorry I don't have a link for you but several commentators have shown the cases in which he offered contradictory testimony in earlier appointments testimony, and hindsight showed he had lied earlier. Recall he worked on the Whitewater stuff as a young judge. He is familiar with politics.

Yes, seeking and achieving peace is today most unfashionable. We like our candidates and leaders to be torturers and war criminals. Pity, it's the American Way these days, perpetual war.

Carter was unpopular with the military industrial complex. He is too apt to go off and tell the truth. I reckon that's why so many hate him today.

Right, several commentators have told you so.

No link, no facts, just the word of some "commentator" who I would guess confirm your bias on a regular basis.

Subjective conclusions grounded in emotional appeals are a poor foundation for conviction of perjury, let alone accusations of the same being true.

Carter was unpopular with whole swaths of the population. Remember the picture of a downed helicopter in the middle of the desert resulting from the botched hostage rescue mission that became emblematic of his administration? Heck, remember how he got trounced by Reagan?

No, just men interested in reading tiny details, and with the ability to compare what he said at moment A to what he said at moment B, like investigators do.

And considering they were discussing matters of public record, it was very interesting. BK looks like a mean drunk and probably is, when he's not kneeling at the foot of the cross.

Yes I remember all that. What's funny is I didn't vote for him and cussed him every time I had to wait in line for gas.

But as I grew older I realized he had been the most honest man to hold the office during my life time. My bet is he was happy to get out of the WH once it was over.

Ultimately the GOP guys who booted him out of office were the same guys running cocaine and guns in Nicaragua and surrounding areas.

Definitely, he's the most honest man to hold the office in my lifetime.

I wish he'd spoken up sooner.

As one of the greatest - if not THE greatest - presidents in our history, his opinion carries enormous weight.

    Thank you for sharing this.

A poll a few years ago - Obama was president - ranked him as the most trusted man in the country.

    A truly great American.

He was ineffective of course, but this ineffectiveness displayed not so much his uncompromising character as the entrenched corruption of our system of monarchic politics.

If Obama - another one of our greatest, and also highly ineffective - had a backbone, he'd be Jimmy Carter.

Was it Carter's "backbone" that freed the hostages???? Wait, it was Reagan that did that.

Do you ever post anything intelligent or are you just stuck on posting stupid rhetoric? Just wondering.

Carter had the lowest poll approval rating of any president since 1945, except Harry Truman. Gerald Ford and Richard Nixon even had a higher poll rating than Carter. (Here is where you go, "What about Trump?" Trump isn't the topic of the thread.)

    Harry Truman April 1945-January 1953 45.4
    Dwight Eisenhower
    January 1953-January 1961 65.0
    John Kennedy January 1961-November 1963 70.1
    Lyndon Johnson November 1963-January 1969 55.1
    Richard Nixon January 1969-August 1974 49.0
    Gerald Ford August 1974-January 1977 47.2
    Jimmy Carter January 1977-January 1981 45.5
    Ronald Reagan
    January 1981-January 1989 52.8
    George H.W. Bush January 1989-January 1993 60.9
    Bill Clinton January 1993-January 2001 55.1
    George W. Bush January 2001-January 2009 49.4
    Barack Obama January 2009-January 2017 47.9

No, that simply means he was ineffective. I've known a couple principals who were also honest but couldn't run a lemonade stand, much less a school - and as nice as those two were, I'd never want either to be my boss again.

Entrenched corruption in politics has been around since soon after there WERE politics and yet there have still been effective and great politicians. Carter is far from one of them - he's one of the worst, and in all honesty, his opinion of Kavanaugh means as much as anyone else's.

Only GOP lawmakers who are not standing for reelection have the balls to resist Trump, albeit weak resistance. The spineless rest are in Trump's pocket.
