you've laid out a basic truth without even understanding it. it isn't that someone is lying to us, we've been lied to all our lives. the previous administration lied to us nonstop, both parties lie to us to gain our votes and the media lies to us for the sake of ratings and commercial endorsement. it's the entertainment value that matters to the hoi polloi. they crave the grand circus. panem et circenses, that's all that matters and that's exactly what the political establishment in general and progressivism in particular have given us. they feed the drones crumbs from their table, but keep them entertained with sensationalism, made up controversy and the illusion that these political animals actually care about the common man. of course, they keep the rabble engaged as well with a series of astroturf demonstrations and inane causes. blm, impeachment, metoo, immigrant caravans.... it's all about keeping drones like you hoping that you too can lead the good life and reinforcing the notion that you, each and every one of you, are so special and that your belief in your own moral superiority is justified.

well guess what, you ain't special. of course, you are special, each and every one of us. this is the grand paradox that the simple minds of the ignorant masses just can't wrap their heads around. from the ceo to the welfare queen or starving child, you are all special, but that doesn't mean you are entitled to anything special. you are special, but must be held accountable. you are special, but blindly following an agenda chips away at that quality. you are special, but refusing to labor for your keep further decreases that quality. you are special, but expecting an extra measure from others, failing to give of yourself while demanding the excess from everyone else, makes of you just another churlish automaton, a user in a world of sheep.

as long as you keep blindly following the entertainment you will be less than human. you will be special, but unworthy of our interest.

Everybody lies to one degree or another. You are violating one of the oldest rules in the world:

"FIrst cast the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote of thy brother's eye."

No other politician even comes close to your LYING BLOTUS.

He's your President, first of all. Second, I don't know that he lies more or less than Joe Biden ... or you.

    We all fall short.

    Nope!

Your BLOTUS was NOT legitimately elected as far as I am concerned so I exercise my right as an American to deny him the honor that he does NOT deserve.

That you are willing to lower your own standards to an abysmal level where that scum of the earth lying shyster is YOUR president says volumes.

Personally I expect far more of those who serve our nation.

Too bad that there are others who will accept that cowardly narcissist instead of a legitimately elected leader.

It is a "mistake" to have STANDARDS of conduct for the HIGHEST office in the land?

    That too says volumes!

i read tripe like this and wonder at the total lack of honesty from anyone on the left. experience and training? surely our last potus, whose entire previous career consisted of rabble rousing and voting present, erased the expectation of experience. on the other hand we now have a man in office that has experience at operating a billion dollar empire and at taking risks for the benefit of that empire. he understands failure, something an entitlement drone wouldn't understand, and how to overcome it. moral character? we didn't expect to canonize the bastard. we knew he was a bit of a dog from the beginning and his opposition has far outstripped his moral failings. they have gone so far as to attack his children and even call his wife a whore. we chose someone who would shake up that stagnant status quo and get the nation back on track, not a choirboy. sense of duty? you do realize, don't you, that you are talking about someone who gave up control of a not insubstantial business empire (something you would know nothing about) in order to expose himself to the constant onslaught of the small minded and the entrenched political bureaucracy? he had to know that he would be attacked from all quarters going in, but he still invested no small amount of his own fortune and worked long and hard for a position that is paying him zero.

posts like the above are a perfect representation of progressivism (a single word oxymoron) at its most pure, nothing of substance and all about the perceived imperfections of the opposition. they do not understand duty, except where it pertains to their own advancement. their only obligation is to the cause, for which they are willing to deceive, steal and even murder. public service is for those who, in their estimation, can afford it and responsibility is something to be passed on to others, if not completely ignored. they refuse to understand that the "job of being president" is about representing all of the american people, not just those deemed worthy by the progressive creed.

    Speaking of volumes...

Why do you post volumes of slanders?

P.S. Trump was, in fact, legitimately elected. Get over it.

have you ever bothered to read the list of lies? i've tried several times, but gave up half way through. it includes every exaggeration, self-aggrandizement and outright error possible. these are all things that every politician has been guilty of and, if they were all held to the same standards, none would pass muster.

in the real adult world actions speak louder than words, so let's take a look at those accomplishments. trump, the racist, has overseen the greatest reduction in minority unemployment in history and attempted to stave off further minority disenfranchisement by reducing foreign competition for entry level employment . trump, the self-centered egotist, has placed himself firmly in the cross-hairs of the political establishment and weathered an unprecedented investigation of every facet of both his personal and professional life. trump, the russian stooge, has instituted sanctions against russian aggression. trump, the international neophyte, has opened dialogues with even the reclusive north korean dictator and challenged the chinese bid for asian dominance. trump, the economic elitist, has instituted tax breaks aiming the greatest percentage of benefit toward the american middle-class and reduced the regulatory burden that hampered the growth of small business. should i go on? i can.

the simple truth is that trump is no rocket scientist and never claimed to be. while fools like obama and hillary claimed to be the smartest people in the room, their accomplishments showed us all how lacking their illusory intellects really were. trump, the junkyard dog, is precisely what the nation needs to break from the progressive stagnation, but the true believers refuse to even give any alternatives a chance.

    Imaginings?

I knew who and what Donald Trump was before he had “The Art of the Deal” ghostwritten.

I don’t have to imagine anything. I have seen this con man’s career. I watched his big deals fall apart. I knew he was a deadbeat back when Ronald Reagan was in the White House.

And if want proof of my “imaginings”, I can bury you up to your ears in them,.

It just occurred to me that you are doing exactly what some crazy people are accusing Trump of PLANNING to do in 2020: simply disregard the election results.

    Please do.

You might start by proving that you're a mind-reader.

Start proving that you know what interests Trump, that he has no sense of duty or obligation, how he views himself, what he cares about, and from where he draws satisfaction.

I think a lot of people were surprised that Americans could vote and elect a buffoonish reality TV celebrity to the highest position in the land.

I think the people who elected this clown and continue to defend every stupid thing he says and does are under some sort of hysterical spell.

No one in their right mind could think this bozo is fit to be president.

Of course Pence is in on it. You didn't think that Flynn was really fired for lying to Pence, did you? McConnell was in on it too, perhaps even moreso than Trump. Well obviously. The Republicans have their dupe who fires up the base, (the conservative/Evangelical/Confederacy crowd) and signs whatever they tell him to sign. McConnell is the brains behind the operation. It was McConnell who first became aware of the Russian efforts, and embraced them, knowing full well that their efforts were to help Republicans.

I'm pretty sure that Trump is a direct result of 40 years of Republican propaganda. Trump is little different than what right wing media has been clamoring for. conservatives have been conditioned to accept Trump.

The Iranian nuclear agreement, or JCPOA, had one goal: Keep Iran more than a year away from the capability to build a nuclear weapon.

"Designing an agreement that would assure it would take Iran a year or more to “break out” and make the fuel to build a bomb — giving the United States, Israel and others plenty of time to respond — was the driving force behind the 2015 nuclear deal that was negotiated under former President Barack Obama."

According to the IAEA, tasked with monitoring Iran's nuclear activities, that deal was working when Trump withdrew the United States from it in May 2018, calling it a “disaster.”

Iran had shipped roughly 97 percent of its nuclear fuel out of the country, leaving only a modest stockpile, and was obeying the limits on producing more. But now that deal is gone and taking its place are threats, increased sanctions, and warnings to our allies to respect Trump's new sanctions.

Now Iran is threaten to do exactly what Trump did ... leave the JCPOA.

The United States insists on “zero enrichment for Iran,” according to Brian H. Hook, the State Department’s special envoy for Iran. That would assure Tehran could produce no new nuclear material, and thus never get closer to building a weapon than it is now.

Which is exactly what the JCPOA was doing when Trump pulled us out the agreement.

"It was a telling moment in a strange, circular week of mutual threats and missed signals between bitter adversaries." Due to his incompetence and naïveté, Trump has boxed himself into a corner. Trump has insisted that he could confront Iran without leading to a military conflict, but, of course, he does not tell us how. Other officials in his administration have, effectively, set a red line that they said Tehran would cross at its peril.

“We are restoring deterrence while working toward a new and better deal,” Mr. Hook said. “We lost deterrence under the Iran deal.”

Really? Trump remains confused. No one has specified what kind of reaction — military or otherwise — would be ordered if Iran built up enough of a stockpile of uranium and took other steps that would cross that threshold.

Welcome to the Trump administration, a headless creation lacking purpose and options to achieve that purpose if it had one.

The New York Times assisted me with this post. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/17/us/politics/trump-iran-nuclear-deal.html

Your beloved BLOTUS inherited the booming Obama economy so it is disingenuous to give him credit for something that he has not accomplished. The only thing that he has done is sign a tax bill that screwed over hardworking Americans while further enriching the wealthy elite like himself and greed obsessed corporations.

What our nation actually needs is LESS of the wealthy ESTABLISHMENT jerkoffs like your BLOTUS and more genuine Progressives who actually do represent We the People.

Puerile PF Rule VIOLATION duly noted and ignored for derogatory reasons.

The OFFICE of the presidency is currently infested by an unindicted scumbag who should be in a courtroom answering the charges against him INCLUDING those of CONSPIRACY to violate campaign finance laws and thereby deprive the American voters of their right to know the truth about him prior to casting their votes.
