    Of course he has, like every President before him and every one after him. But he is wildly unpopular and the Democrats claim they have the best platform for America. They already have more voters on the rolls then the Republicans. The only way they lose is with a poor candidate or a platform that does not appeal to enough people in enough states. But the Democrats need to actually provide a reason for fly over country to vote for them. Here is a hint, calling them deplorable uneducated racists is not the best plan.

    Naw, China supplies over 50% at this point, meaning we would still have access to other markets. Also north America has most of them we just stopped mining them due to the environmental impact. But new mining techniques have made it more viable. Apple would exist just the phones would cost more.

    Or are you joking? So hard to tell through this medium

    Yeah, I know.
    But I was serious. While it's true China only has about 50% of the reserves of rare earths they produce 95% of it. The US has about 1% of the reserves. But they are like oil. Pay enough and you have more. :)
    People here talk like Apple could just pick up and move. They can't. China has a city built around Apple with about 350,000 people building I phones.
    They also buy more of them than they sell to the US - or they did before the tariffs.
    It would take years for Apple to relocate. In the meantime they would look like Motorola.

    One really big difference is our greedy capitalist companies voluntarily transferred our manufacturing and middle class jobs to Asiaand every other cheap labor market that would increase profits and their salaries,now we are asking CHINA to voluntarily send our manufacturing and jobs back.You know with the amount of plant building and equipment they have invested in and the numbers of Chinese reliant on their jobs that just is not going to happen without a considerable fight.

    The hardest hit will be coastal cities as their ports start drying up. As usual, people out in the sticks will weather things just fine. Democrats, on the other hand, might have to resort to cannibalism.
