No way I will spend 6 minutes viewing a video that explains whatever you wanted to explain. In any case, Assange made the bed he is being asked to sleep in. He buttered the bread he is being asked to eat. He deserves a fair trial. If not found guilty, he should be freed immediately. If found guilty, he should suffer the penalty the laws prescribe...both here and in Sweden.
Your ignorance fits you well. By all means, NEVER spend 6 minutes informing yourself when some talking head on Fox or NBC can tell you how to think.
If you have a point to make about Assange...have the balls to make it. If you want to post videos of other people making points about Assange...get use to the idea of people telling you that sucks.
Assange is a hero for having exposed the crimes of government. All whistleblowers are heroes for that same reason. Those who support and defend government criminality are damaged goods.
Benedict Arnold was a hero...to the British. He was a traitor to the colonists. George Washington was a hero to the colonists...but a traitor to the British. Assange has been charged with serious crimes by Sweden and America. He deserves a fair trial. If acquitted, he deserves to be freed immediately. If convicted, he deserves the punishment required.
Assange has been charged with false crimes. Exposing the crimes of governments is no crime at all. Indeed, it is the ultimate act of citizenship. You may be standing in line to pee on the First Amendment, but I am not.
He has acted within the law. The charge does not apply. If you take the time to watch the video you will know that he is not guilty of the crime the U.S. is charging him with because it does not apply by sheer definition. He has not been charged with any crime here in Sweden. The state is pursuing Assange over a non-crime, one that has not been pressed by any "victim". It is akin to the courts charging you with assault for punching me while I never stated (nor do I claim) that you ever hit me.
Who the hell elected you to make that decision? Who the hell elected you to make that decision? I am championing a fair trial for the guy...which is what is called for in the Constitution. You are the one pissing on our Constitution.
He was charged with rape...and the investigation into the charges have been re-opened. If you think rape (no matter how defined) is not a serious crime...okay with me. But YOU do not get to choose what is a serious crime or not.
YOU do not determine that. A jury does. That is what I advocate for...a trial by jury. If you want to watch videos...watch videos. I am willing to listen to arguments. If your argument is that the guy is innocent of any crimes...my response would be: That is for a jury to decide...NOT YOU. The investigation has been reopened. We'll see.
No, you are wrong. The investigation has been reopened. He has not been charged. Rape means having sex with someone against their will or by force. He did not have sex with anyone by force or against their will. That is not my opinion or what I have chosen to believe. That is FACT. Therefore he is innocent of rape so yes, I get to decide that it is not a serious charge as prescribed by the act of rape.
If you are willing to listen to arguments then why do you refuse to watch the video? The video explains that he has not committed a crime as described by U.S. law but that the law is being re-written for the purpose of finding Assange guilty. But of course, you didn't see the video, so how could you know? If you don't want to watch that video, try this one.
I said that the investigation into the charges have been reopened. You agree...but make it sound as though you are disagreeing. Wake the hell up. You do not get to define rape for Sweden. The laws of Sweden define it. And when they did charge him...the charges conformed to what the Swedish law defines as rape. In any case, there ARE pending charges against him here in the United States. I would like to see him brought back to the US...and given a fair trial.
If you have an argument to make...make it. I do not intend to watch a video making a case you seem reluctant to make yourself.
READ MY LIPS: No charges have ever been made in Sweden against Julian Assange and he never raped anyone. If you do not understand Swedish and you rely only on your over-dramatic news that does not understand Swedish either that is not my fault. Furthermore, the term "rape" does not translate the way your media makes it sound. "Rape" is an English word that does not mean the expression that we have, nor does it include the nuance of the word. In addition to that, you (personally) do not understand the difference between an investigation and a charge ...... or you are just feigning ignorance to avoid admitting your mistakes.
Don't worry. Don't watch the video. Don't read my words. Don't listen to my argument: I prefer you exactly as you are.
It is important to be aware that what he is charged with in Sweden is in reality quite minor and if what I was hearing last night is correct would not usually result in a prison sentence. There is apparently a difficulty in translating the word Rape with all it's connotations in English into the Swedish alternative which includes all kinds of wrongs many very far from what we consider rape. It is interesting that we are not being notified of this by our papers. That would appear to be to put people off him.
* Well Assange is not from the US. That is why people who wrongly agree that if he was from the US he should be charged, do not believe you have the right to try this on someone who is not from your country.
Oh, so it’s better to watch a video with source unknown and be told what to think by someone who you don’t even know? Great strategy!
They deplatformed Alex Jones, and I did not speak up. They charged Assange, and I did not speak up...
Make the damn argument. Why do you claim he was charged with crimes that don’t apply? In your own words.
