Why have we lost our patriotism?

I totally understand how America's sacred human and civil rights stop at your borders. Sadly, you don't live in a vacuum but I totally get how you think can that.

After all what influence and impact does America have on the rest of world? Why should anyone care what goes on in your country when it has absolutely no effect on anyone else.

I dream of the day when trumpland has finished cleaning out their navels, and look up to see the world in which they really live.

We are busy trying to clean up the mess frim the last guy.

And actually we are the only country that acknowledges civil rights in the first place.
Every other country just has varied levels of totalitarianism.

A pastor in Canada cannot preach about sin without risking jail and an Australian can't carry a side arm to protect himself.

Other countries are nothing to emulate neither is America anymore. That's why we need to avoid more authoritarian rule from the Democrats.

 

Patriotism has gradually become passe because the Left gradually gained death-grip control over the nation's public educational system and the television and movie industry . . . and for that matter, most of the Mainstream Media. So that's a LOT of anti-U.S.A. propaganda and disdain for TRADITIONS being rammed down the throats of this nation's youth. It's bound to have an effect as they become adults.

I'm not surprised you actually think you are the only country that acknowledges civil rights in the first place, since parochialism and jingoism are pillars of political thinking (or lack thereof) in Trumpland.

What makes liberals unpatriotic isn't one guy or another, its the relentless pursuit of un-American policies that counter the very ideals instilled by the Founders...

Patriotism gets lost when people forget what it is.

 

And one way to maybe get a little bit back is to have some public run Grand Jury action, examining some government actions with subpoena powers.

 

I'm a far left liberal and I'm patriotic. I also see problems in my country that need to be addressed.

If you are a socialist, like millions of other far left liberals, you do follow an un-American agenda, which in and of itself would be unpatriotic. If you are one of those odd far left liberals who has not rejected capitalism, your own party will be attacking you, either way, liberalism and patriotism don't seem to work together anymore...

 

You do realize the subsidy that Trump gave farmers because his tariffs were hurting them is socialism, right? That's my tax money as well as yours. What funds police depts.? Fire stations? All of that is socialism. It is our collective as a country paying for services.

 

Hardly, subsidies are a protectionist model to ensure native products are capable of competing due to the higher standard of living in America while markets stabilize after decades of exploitation by foreigners. There were police and fire departments before Karl Marx. What you are trying to do is steal social ideas that predate socialism while ignoring the core theft requirements that socialism entails…

 

My tax money went to subsidize farmers. OUR tax money. How is that not socialist?

America got on the wrong track not long after the end of WWII.....and the downward path increased in velocity up and until the miracle of Donald Trump....though doing his best to turn the descent around there are many forces opposing him...from the liberal judges appointed by the affirmative action President to congress, to even the members of his own party...the elitists.

Yet, lots of people...primarily white working class are getting 'woke' and they are the ones with the ability along with Trump to truly make America Great Again.

Nonsense....you have no evidence that conservatives have ever hated America...they do hate how certain elements have taken America down the wrong path....thus our recognition that needs to be changed....the motive behind the slogan...Make America Great Again...by getting us back on the right path.
