I know that Omar's district is "home" to more than 50,000 of Ilhans fellow refugees. I know that 9 were recruited by ISIS and that Ilhan petitioned the judge for a light sentence. Omar said Somali refugees were vulnerable to terrorist manipulation because they were virtual nobodies in American society, and martyrdom was better than obscurity. Sorta ironic a female Somali refugee turned US congresswoman would plea that case. But I guess because the US provides so few opportunities to become pirates and islamic warlords, Somali refugees are deprived of the notoriety they could attain in Mogadishu.
