Marianne Williamson Releases $500 Billion Reparations Plan

Spiritual guru and 2020 White House hopeful Marianne Williamson on Wednesday released her plan to pay between $200 billion to $500 billion in reparations to descendants of African slaves in the United States.
The proposal calls for the creation of a “Reparations Commission” to allocate funds to infrastructure and education initiatives in black neighborhoods. According to Williamson’s campaign, the commission would be run by 50 descendants of slaves with a “scholarly, cultural, or political connection to the issue of reparations.”

Another rock solid and sure to succeed plan from a Top Democrat.

Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren are yet to release their reparation plan.

 

Give this woman the spotlight and a megaphone and Republicans will have the House, Senate, and White House for decades to come.

Is there really anything as pathetic and disgusting as a white guilt monkey?

 

Two huge problems with this.

1) The text on her website says "I support, and have a plan for, a program of reparations to the descendants of American slaves" but never once mentions how exactly she is going to go about qualifying those individuals. From the context of the rest of her plan I think its fair to conclude she wants all blacks to be included regardless of if they have qualifying lineage. Being that the case then presenting it as slavery atonement is more about invoking emotion and guilt rather than accomplishing its stated goal. It would be more honest if she just called it reparations for blacks.

2) This one is quite alarming. From her website: "This payment is to be made over a period of twenty years, to a Reparations Council made up of black leaders from..." & "It would be for this council, not for the American government, to determine how...". So basically her administration would write a $500,000,000 check to an independent company that would be mandate have no oversight from Congress. Wowzers no thank you. The people's money should be stewarded by the people's representatives. Even if I supported the concept of reparations I would never support handing some freshly formed council of people who would undoubtedly be connected to the administration. Oh wait Williamson even says that they will be: "The Council would be made up of 30-50 members, all descendants of slaves with some scholarly, cultural or political connection to the issue". Corruption abound.

 

I see the 2020 dem hopefully are still digging their holes deeper. Open borders, higher taxes, free healthcare for illegals, more regulation, and reperations. They are giving the election to Trump.

As a person who votes in American Presidential elections who does not identify as Republican or Democratic, right or left, and who has voted for third parties recently, the idea of reparations as it is being discussed is unutterably absurd. A candidate with this as a goal is not someone to vote for.

 

Seems like a perfectly valid and logical conclusion.

Can I ask who you are supporting for President at this time?

 

She sounds like another DNC Russian agent trying to destroy the United States of America.

 

I’m currently praying the Dems adopt this as a plank in their platform.

Warren and Sanders are yet to release their plans-I doubt they will be better.

 

She would be far more effective discussing the breakdown of the black family.

 

They’ll outbid each other:

“$500 billion? That’s all? I’ll raise that to $1 trillion dollars!”

 

That would be racist.

 

Pointing out those things is considered racist. We aren't allowed to discuss anything negative happenings in the black communities.

 

Even if it is constructive, we can’t go there.

I will make that 2 billion dollars, & I will roll out the red carpet at the El Paso border and every person entering will get a Orange Man bad t-shirt.

 

The Dems must maintain that victim mentality.

 

Reparations were already paid with the 14th amendment. The immigration laws of the time would have prevented any of the free slaves from becoming US citizens, meaning their descendants wouldn't be US citizens and enjoy one of the highest standards of living in the world today. We are all better off for the sacrifices our ancestors made to put us here.

So do you think several democrat candidates releasing reparation plans is a wise strategy?

 

It is wise if you want voters who prefer style over substance and prefer the appearance of justice, with no real sense of what justice is. If that is who you are courting, then yes maybe.

I would be happy to pay people, of any race, to leave the country if they hate it here. A 1 time payment and a "sorry America ruined your life", and you can not come back. I bet almost no one would take the money.

Pray tell, would a Black person get 25% less money if it turned out his grandmother was White?

 

The dem candidates are campaigning on bankrupting this country. With talks of reperations, student loan forgiveness, free college, free healthcare for illegals, guaranteed universal income, etc. The working class cannot afford any of these democratic candidates.

What ever happen to ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country? Have we fallen this low?
