I'm tired of Trump supporters being labeled "cultists"

I feel the same way. I have relatives who are staunch Trump supporters, who are really decent people. Of course, we avoid talking politics. It is just unfathomable to me how these decent people can sell their soul to the amoral conman, who's constant demagoguery is ripping America apart, but fueling his own vanity. I just don't understand how people are unable to see this, and actually think that Trump makes them win. I hope that this, too, shall pass, and we'll go back to normalcy in political relations.

At that point the blame can scarcely be laid at the feet of Donald Trump. He might well be dead by then anyway.

It is more about disgust than hate. I don’t hate poop, but I do find it disgusting. I don’t hate Trump but I do find him disgusting.

 

But you can’t help but look look at it, the same way people can’t help but look at a roadside car accident as they drive by. Instead of admitting the truth- that you are fond of your disgust for Trump, you turn it into hatred of an entire individual. Maybe not you, but the cult that opposes him.

It’s like a man who calls a woman immoral and promiscuous; but can’t help but be attracted to her.

 

Yes, the left has their own nut jobs, no question about it.

There is a difference, though:

Many voters on the Dem side were holding their nose casting their ballot for Hillary Clinton. And many didn't vote, which is one of the reasons why Trump won. There wasn't a lot of love for Clinton, evident by the lack of yard signs, for example. Why? Because Dems had enough of the decades of the Clinton machine. That's why they picked Obama over Hilary in 2008.

On the other hand, conservatives absolutely embrace Trump and elevate him to some kind of saint, who can single-handedly save America. They do that while knowing full well that all Trump is doing is verbally trash the Americans who did not vote for him.

NONE of the current Dem candidates, while having some of their own issues, come close to the amoral character that Trump displays.

That's the difference between the two sides.

 

Why do you discount the idea that many on the right held their noses and voted for Trump?
Why do you think that number is any different than those who did the same for Clinton?

The post-election meltdown of the left says otherwise.

I am appalled at the lack of any intelligent discussion that we can have on Trump. We cannot even agree on the facts.

This is more than just a political brawl, it's the dawn of a new age of kleptocracy and anarchy.

 

When one side starts with "I hate Trump!!! Orange man baaaaad!!!" and goes from there what do you expect?
