Remember back 2/3 years ago when he was talking about forestry management in Helsinki, and how the Find took care of their forests and you all went off on him using the word rakes? By the way it doesn't matter a damn what the feds do if CA doesn't properly take care if it's own.

Well you have to know the AGW idiots will spin the narrative but the truth is California is over the top liberal and they talk a good game but never actually do anything about this problem. They have stacks of useless legislation but nothing in place in the way of prevention because talk is cheaper than actual conservation and land management. It's easier to screech Climate Change than actually do something. They should be rounding up the homeless out there and house them in conservation camps and put them to work like Roosevelt did with the WPA and the CCC. I'm sure that not all of those street people are drug addicts or mentally ill and enough would be happy to have a roof over their heads and regular meals. I know the hand wringers will call it slavery but they could give the nominal compensation as well.

When you are willing to burn down cities because something irritated you and you feel nasty, what's a forest fire or two?

Sorry but it's just fact. Many of the fires are arson.

Funny how some weather is just weather while other weather is evidence of AGW.

Yes and Clinton reduced the federal cut by 70%. We see the results of that bad policy now.

So called environmentalist have been stopping logging in California for decades with lawsuits filed on nearly every timber sale. Thank the Sierra Club for these catastrophic fires.

"Every year about 3.8 billion board feet of new timber grows in the Golden State, capturing almost one metric ton of CO2 per acre in the productive timberland areas. Trees grow until they die, burn, or get harvested. If harvesting declines, tree mortality and fires increase. It’s the tyranny of math.

In the early 1990s, a series of restrictions were placed on logging in the West to protect the Spotted Owl. As it turned out, nature was more complicated than expected, with owl numbers continuing to decline—even after the California timber harvest plummeted—due to predation from other raptors.

In the meantime, the harvest fell below the growth rate in the 1990s, to about 1.5 billion board feet per year over the past decade. The tree harvest on federal lands is now one-tenth of what it was in 1988, President Reagan’s last full year in office."

Well actually they have done a few things like complicate process so that Ca. only manages about 13k of prescribed burns a year about 2 to 3 percent what is required.

Everywhere I drive in my area of Pa. there are large trees many of which are dead or dying in close proximity to power lines. Why we didn't BAN planting tall growing trees within 100 feet of power lines 100 years ago and still have not boggles my mind. Are we stupid, do we want constant power outages which we are plagued with every year?? Why no one seems to ever address this obvious problem baffles me.It should be illegal to plant tall trees within 100 feet of power lines, there are plenty of short decorative trees that can enhance peoples property just none that reach the height of power lines.

How long do you think it takes a tree to grow high enough to fall on a power line? Nature has been doing a fine job if growing trees for 1000's of years. What makes you think anyone is growing them?

Local power company here spends big money cutting branches back from power lines
It results in some of the darndest looking trees you ever seen.

You missed the point. YES, many are arson, but the vast majority were started by lightning.

Lightning was the primary reason for most of those fires. Heat and drought exacerbated the problem. All three are tied to AGW/ACC

That was the point. Many are arson which as I stated greatly exacerbated the situation

You really need more research before hitting the all caps key. This is a problem that has gone on for centuries and the Native Americans have offered to teach the know it all's how they solved much of the fire issue hundreds of years ago but tree huggers prevail and so it burns leading to mudslides. CA gets what it deserves.

~ California does an awful job of forrest management. Because we are dessert , have hot summers and have many mountains there needs to be more aggressive land clearing. Firebrakes are lacking in many areas.
We all know the reason this does not improve. So does the U.S. Forrest Service and the president.
~ Most of the fires in California are caused by people. I cannot remember a fire caused by lightning. I do remember falling power lines causing a fire.

Oh feigned ignorance even better. Environmental alarmist have their knives out for CO2. Have any of them figured out the perfect amount of CO2 is yet? You know too little and the planet freezes over. We know that because It happened in the past. However we really haven't much idea how much is too much In no small part because We really aren't sure how all the various feed back loops work or even what they all are.
