This is just sjw's complaining about cultural appropriation.

You sing the rainbow is your symbol and nobody else can use it is just like the girl that was trying to cut a man's hair because he was wearing dreadlocks and he wasn't black.

If this is such a deep meaningful symbol to you why did you abandon it? Clearly you did because nobody sees it as meaning Christianity

Okay, God owns 30% of rainbows. Gays own 30% and science owns 30%.

The remaining 10% goes to Pink Floyd.

no it actually wasn't the different colors in the flag symbolized different virtues it didn't symbolize people or really diversity which is why in so many people have a problem with the racial stripes in the new pride flag. It was a symbol anybody of any race could get behind.
the idea of blasphemy in this regard is really a claim of cultural appropriation. The idea that any culture has a claim on anything is a fundamental component of prejudice

I was raised Catholic, later joined a number of churches and studied many variety of Christian beliefs. But only at PF does someone claim god owns rainbows so nobody else can use them. LOL!

That isn't cultural. That is an individual.

I would say homophobia can only be experienced by people who have at least some latent homosexual tendencies. It's the fear that exposure to gay people will make a person gay. I don't attribute all unacceptance to this very little actually is.

    How do you define homophobia?

BTW, I'e used that basic argument a number of times. What is everyone so worried about unless you think you or your kids can be "made gay".

No one has ever admitted that yes, they could be gay under the right circumstances. LOL!

Well I remember before I accepted my sexuality I believed things made me gay and feared them. Homophobia was a paranoid disorder that there are things that will make you gay.
I would consider this a form of homophobia and suggest people who think this way are only straight because they weren't introduced to these ideas which seems preposterous. I remember people calling one another gay in a derogatory sense when I was in second grade back in 1987. My parents were admonished in the 60s for calling each other "Stupid little queer."

It seems the issue isn't the idea because the idea was understandable even in the 60s to grade school children. It's the idea that it's okay that bothers people now. The idea that being called gay queer isn't a bad thing. I think that's what people complaining about this are upset about.

I guess some folks think you can tease the gay out of people.
Well I think the line between straight and gay is not as stark as people would like it to be. When I came out a lot of my straight friends confessed to me Having a period where they thought they might be gay. I think this is a common thing in boys which is why that "it's just a phase" excuse persists.

So maybe this is why predominantly guys think that gay guys like me are influenced.

Don't be silly. Rainbows and rainbow flags have meant different things to vastly different people and cultures for a long time...

The history of the rainbow flag

...Since at least the late 15th Century, and the incorporation of the rainbow flag by the German theologian Thomas Müntzer in his reformist preachings, the symbol has been seized upon by religious and social activists to draw attention to their causes. A version was unfurled in the 16th Century during the German Peasants’ War to signify the promise of social change. In the 18th Century, the English-American revolutionary and author of the influential political tract Rights of Man, Thomas Paine, advocated for the adoption of the rainbow flag as a universal symbol for identifying neutral ships at sea. The flag has since been flown by Buddhists in Sri Lanka in the late 19th Century as a unifying emblem of their faith, by Indians annually on 31 January to commemorate the passing of the spiritual leader Meher Baba, and, since 1961, by members of international peace movements...

How Did the Rainbow Flag Become an LGBT Symbol?
    https://www.history.com/news/how-did-the-rainbow-flag-become-an-lgbt-symbol

There's nothing that suggests that Christian symbology even crossed Gilbert Baker's mind while he was developing his version of the rainbow flag.

Methinks Christians have MUCH more important and meaningful things to worry about than a stupid flag...

I don't think I'd call that a "meaning." It's more of a meaningless scientific description. I doubt it was seen thusly six to seven thousand years ago.

Six to seven thousand years ago people were still cracking skulls open with rocks if anyone mentioned a physical reality that offended them.

If we shoot them these days, we end up in jail, at best.

That it isn't okay to murder people for believing differently than you do, no matter what was done a few thousand years ago. Understand?

Would you prefer I change the subject to the infanticide celebrated by those who agree with the OP?
