Nothing rational about this statement tbh. Statistically speaking, officers are clearly the good guys The vast overwhelming amount of time.

No point commenting if you are going to ignore the evidence.

FYI, another insurrectionist was convicted yesterday, more to go. As I said, I will remind you again and again.

I think that your last sentence explains why I just read of this incident a few days ago and may explain why there have been no riots........ yet.

    Thanks for the additional information,

You're missing two important facts. One, Floyd was killed in broad daylight in front of many of the public. Two, many of the public filmed the killing of Floyd. As far as I'm aware no one of the public witnessed the beating up and death of Tyer

Floyd died from an overdose. And I just got through watching the cops beat that guy to death.

Definitely not cool at all. Looks like they kicked his head more than once. These particular officers deserve whatever they get. That many cops should be able to hold a person down without ANY hitting. But they were hitting and kicking him multiple times.

What needs to be pointed out in ALL articles about this though is something to remind people that these types of cops are an exception rather than the rule. As has been pointed out already before in this thread, there are millions of police interactions per year. The VAST majority of which never end up with any sort of violence. I will be extremely happy if rioting does not happen. That was not the case last weekend in Atlanta.

I agree completely with the protests. We need police reform across the nation now. There is zero acceptance in what happened to Tyre. Our elected officials in Washington have failed us for years on this. Really decades. Reform is needed now.

Irrelevant to my point regarding the difference in reaction of protesters AFTER seeing the video in both cases. Could be relevant to the difference in Chauvin being charged 4 days after the death and these 5 cops 16 days after the death. Although you seem to be justifying Memphis' delay in prosecution because they had delayed the release of the video.

Just wasn't convicted of insurrection, though. Right?

Even though cops kill more whites than blacks, since Michael Browns death we have only focused upon this problem as one of racism of the police, while the problem of police over use of force is unaddressed.

If he resisted, it was appropriate to use legal force. Not illegal force.

Cops are afraid of blacks and blacks are afraid of cops. That's the problem.

This is not Atlanta. This is Memphis.

There were no riots. There was no looting. But you keep pushing that rightwing talking point.

And clearly you didn't hear what the police chief said. But keep pushing your own facts.

What the police chief said and what the video of the incident revealed are two very different things. Probably, firing the police officers is just a precaution by the city to mitigate liability in the matter or mitigate negative politics from the likes of people like you. In other words, Memphis doesn't want to be 'cancelled' by ANTIFA or any other extremist and illegal mobs.
