You need to get out more. Try introducing a Muslim prayer at a NASCAR rally and see if anyone objects. I bet even a Jewish prayer would cause a stir.

You need to stop using your liberal elitist standards on a private organization.

This is just more of a liberal sticking his nose in a place he is not needed or wanted

I'm not a very religious person, and I just cannot for the life of me wrap my head around why people are so threatened by the word "God" or someone praying.

    I don't get it. I never will.

And I definitely don't get why we let the minority of people like this remove it. They have no case. They are offended by it? Why? In what way does it OFFENED anyone? When is the last time you heard a Christian say they were OFFENDED because someone didn't pray? WHO CARES!

No I do not wish to control anybody and I don't know why you would think I would.

You appear to jump to a lot of conclusions about me (who you don't even know). I don't know why there are so many here whose first reaction to a post they don't like is to trot out insults and stereotypes. Are you incapable of calm, rational discourse without the ugliness?

Letting your ignorance seep in I see. An atheist/agnostic conjecturing what religious may or may not tolerate. Thanks for the laugh!

you are proselytizing your beliefs on others by being upset that they are praying at a sporting event. you wish them to not do this, you wish them to keep prayers out of their sport. you sir are the one who is being fascist, because you dont like it you believe it shouldnt be there and are (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)ing because its a part of their sport.

you have stated throughout this thread that basically you wish no prayer could ever be heard, nor should it be on tv for any reason. well there are places where prayer is not allowed and places where prayer is allowed, sorry you cant have everything your way and completely silence the masses that wish to pray.

Heed your own advice. You are claiming that they don't exist. Got proof? You can't prove a negative either. That's where you atheist types always screw up.

Proof of what? Do you know every Christian and how they think?

I think you misunderstood my post. When I talk about inclusive prayer I mean prayer that doesn't identify a certain deity to the exclusion of all other faiths and gods. Or do christians only pray for the safety of soldiers who share their faith to the exclusion of all others? Do you see my point?

Praying in the name of Allah is not inclusive.

Praying in the name of Jehovah is not inclusive.

Praying in the name of Jesus Christ is not inclusive.

It's a private event they can do whatever they want. And yes I have attended many NASCAR races and I am an atheist.

The military planes are patriotic, the prayer isn't but they are certainly free to have one.

Because the crowd they cater to is probably about 95% Christian.

Usually to do with protecting people from getting hurt.

Please, you aren't telling people around here something they don't already know.

You tell me. I'm been told numerous times that all the Christians at the NASCAR race WOULD be offended if they didn't pray. So maybe you should debate those posters on that point.

See, here is an atheist that gets it; actually, Bluesguy sounds like more of an agnostic like me than an atheist, in that he is a lot more open-minded. I don't necessarily believe in God either, but I do respect those that do and the importance of the concept of God in other people's lives. If that helps them to make them better people, then so be it. My wife is a conservative Christian who respects my agnostic beliefs. Perhaps people like Randle need to...

Please allow me to state my beliefs myself. I do not believe in the existence of supernatural beings who look over us and whom we must worship.

I'm not doing anything that the conservatives on this board don't do daily. Check any thread that has a liberal subject and see how long it takes the cons to turn into an Obama-bashing thread.
