Wow, how can it always be so unexpected? I thought things were improving? I hope we do not see increases each week or else the nation will truly be in deeper trouble.

Doesn't surprise me. Employment always goes up during the Holidays. That's why I didn't get up beat about it when they said employment went up in the last quarter.

When one's head is buried in the sands of Hope and Change, reality is always unexpected... Things won't get better until there is an actual Executive in the White House.

    It was a big increase.

I appreciate you're are all thrilled with this news given that paucity of negative economic news you've had to celebrate lately.

Jobless claims have hovered around the 400,000 mark every month since Obama took office......

......few see any thrill in that.....but (D)enial remains abundant.

It just goes to show that when you praise an artificial number, it will always come back and bite you in the butt.

What is relevant is the fact that population to employed ratio is ultra low and stagnant.

That is not even close to accurate.

Where do you all get this nonsense? Is this something you heard from right wing propaganda, or did you just make it up?

Initial jobless claims were in the 600,000 per week range when Obama took office. While the go up and down from week to week, they have trended slowly downward since then. The ~365k figures over the last few weeks have been the the lowest they have been in three years.

The average would be higher yet. But it hasn't "hovered" but improved.

    Much to your chagrine.

What's really relevant is that when Obama took office, hundreds of thousand of net jobs were being lost every month.

What is really relevant is since he took office, that has turned around, and in the last couple years the private sector has generated millions of net jobs.

Wow... you'd think, based on the right-winger threads created over this, that the right-wing had won the lottery.

I guess this is what happens when, like the Republican Party, you are so heavily invested in failure.

    Congratulations to the right-wing.

    You invested in Failure.......

.......when you helped elect a 143 day Senator with a 5 minute career and a 5 second resume.......who never ran so much as a lemonade stand much less a candy store.

What other outcome....besides Failure....did you expect when you elected The Most Inexperienced and Incompetent President in History?

Why do you claim the 399k claims is a false figure?

We are invested in failure? Whose Stimulus was it? Whose Quantitative Easing, both of them, was it? Whose phony "tax holiday" is it? Whose money-printing binge was it? Whose Fannie and Freddie is it? Republicans? You'd have to be pretty stupid to believe that! Sorry, dude -- you leftist jackasses own this one!

First, are you saying that he was the victim of poor timing with terrible employment numbers when he took officie? Then you are saying he is the recipient of good timing by employment numbers improving from rock bottom? Or are you giving him credit for employment marginally increasing from rock bottom? If so, what has he done specifically to create this positive change in private sector jobs?

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear. I asked you to prove your claim that "the economy would be recovering much faster". All you did was post a graph of predictions made in 2008.
