You do understand how boycotts work right? Do you really think millions of people would let it slide if California left the union? But go ahead and underestimate people. Cause that worked so well for HRC...

The constitution has no language that would forbid a state from seceding. Just saying.

If the Southern States could not secede and almost 600,000 lives were lost and the Southern States virtually destroyed enforcing that and forcing back into the Union why would California be treated different. In fact why aren't those in California supporting this being called traitors?

Not according to Lincoln and the SCOTUS. We had a five year civil war costing over 600,000 lives saying a state cannot secede. Even on this board we Soutnerns are called traitors.

Okay, please quote the language that forbids a state from leaving the union.

It would likely put an end to government paid welfare if it is true. My red state is in excellent financial condition. I can't speak for the others.

Obviously they can. The confederacy proved that. But there could be consequences. The confederacy proved that as well.

That's not quite like I heard it. I heard they want to break California up into three states, not have California break from the U.S. Yes, it seems that many Californians are fed up with Governor Brown and his policies. He has turned California into a haven for criminals and illegals. California is so far in debt they may never get out.

    Yep.

"Guess which state has the highest poverty rate in the country? Not Mississippi, New Mexico, or West Virginia, but California, where nearly one out of five residents is poor. That's according to the Census Bureau's Supplemental Poverty Measure, which factors in the cost of housing, food, utilities and clothing, and which includes noncash government assistance as a form of income."

Well neither were the Southern States they just didn't want to be in the Union anymore. 600,000 lives later the position of the United States was affirmed, states can't secede. And here on this board we are still called traitors. Seems to me we need to go and arrest those falling for treason and secession.

Doesn't Texas have a special provision? Should they have been? I'm not the one saying secession was traitorous nor that the Southerners were traitors for seceding. I'm asking those who do. Have you ever done so?

Why should California be allowed to secede when the South was forced back in and we are still called traitors ?

You call it damage because your progressive leftist dream is slipping away. Approximately half if not more of the American people do not want to go in your direction so keep your dream and leave the rest of us alone.

Poverty? Yup, he’s correct and it even says so in the link YOU provided. See, you’re confusing the RATE with the total number. Look at the chart provided in your link under states and territories. Then scroll down to California. You’ll see they have the most people in poverty in the USA. That is what he said they have, and he is correct.

    Here’s his quote again:

As you can see, he didn’t mention rate whatsoever.

And after doing a little more research(article from this year)....

    http://www.latimes.com/opinion/op-ed/la-oe-jackson-california-poverty-20180114-story.html

“Guess which state has the highest poverty ratein the country? Not Mississippi, New Mexico, or West Virginia, but California, where nearly one out of five residents is poor. That's according to the Census Bureau's Supplemental Poverty Measure, which factors in the cost of housing, food, utilities and clothing, and which includes noncash government assistance as a form of income.”

Broke? Idk. It seems hit or miss. While this year they may run a surplus, they certainly didn’t last year or for several years before that. Their unfunded liabilities are crazy high as well. And then there is this:

Golly...I had no idea that we got to add whatever parameters required when backing our statements. Did you know that Gorillas are actually human?

The agency of mammalian species label manipulation www,AMSLM,com has shown DNA analysis indicates Gorillas have almost identical Tetrselmic genome markers which clearly designates then as Human.

The funniest part of all of this is that they only want to secede because a Republican won the presidency. I've often wondered how it would work out if CA or even the entire west coast seceded and ran their government the way they want to. They have more unemployed than employed. I'm anxious to see how government assistance will work and how long it'll take them to start eating their own. Liberals aren't happy unless they're angry, with no Republicans around to be angry and yell at, they'll just begin to eat each other. The hardest left will take out the softest left.

NO! They should let them go. Those morons know what the CSA did wasn't treason, they just don't have an argument so they call us all traitors.

The Orientals are far superior to blacks and whites, who are just average compared to them.

A dream come true indeed... They can call it the PSA. Progressive States of America. Progressive usually means what it says, so it'll suck poor unknowing saps to it like Greenland did back in the later part of the 1st millennia.
