The GOP-controlled chamber chose freshman state Rep. Stephanie Borowicz (R) to deliver the opening legislative prayer, prior to the swearing in, and you won’t believe how offensive it was without watching it. The prayer by Rep. Stephanie Borowicz was by far and away the most UN-AMERICAN speech I think I have ever heard by an American legislator. She should at the very least be censored by that body of legislators or even fired and a special election held. I, as a 72-year-old white American born citizen, am shamed by this blatant display of hatred and racism within ANY legislative body within the USA! Perhaps Rep.Stephanie Borowicz would be more comfortable living in Nazi Germany than the civilized society the founding fathers imagined when they drew up the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights! Whatever happened to the separation of church (ANY church) and state? I am furious and devastated that my country has devolved to this level barbarism.
If you really want to get pissed, look at your US currency. You can rid yourself of it by sending it to me. Perhaps you should stop watching YouTube videos. Less stress.
It was beautiful. Thank you for posting. Perhaps some devil worshipper will someday give a prayer that you approve of.
Are you really that insensitive an individual, or are you one of those Walter Mitty types with an overbearing wife that only speaks up behind the anonymity of the web?
What's the problem ? Some pray or communicate to God through Jesus while others through saints or Muhammad while other communicate to God directly. It's the same God so they say.
She delivered a prayer to help America and she wants the help of Jesus. A bit different than our LDS prayers are but she hit the spot. I am proud of her and i do not attend her church.
Ha ha. You would have really thought an earlier america was even more barbaric. Thomas Jefferson even compiled his own new testament, separating the pearls from the dung, as he said. We do have a separation of church and state, but were wise enough to allow our people, including our politicians to believe in God, and even wrote down such a right, the freedom of religion. I find it very telling, that you would think this woman to be more at home in nazi germany. ha ha. Yes, those kind of statements reveal your most radical nature. We even have chaplains in our military, to give comfort to our soldiers who give their lives, so that people like yourself can post irate posts against religious people, people who believe in more than just themselves, people who get purpose from an idea of a powerful, loving, moral being. I wish, for you, that atheists had created this gov't, this nation. But I cannot change history, and I have no doubt that atheists could have ever created this constitutional republic. They created nations like the old USSR and Mao's communist china. That some of us are not thankful for the religion that had much to do with the creation of this nation is fine, for there will always be ingrates coming forth from simple ignorance. It was christian philosophy that gave us freedom of religion, as well as Judaic tradition, and all religions did not do this, like Islam. Thank God christian philosophy was involved in the founding of this nation, but even then it did not force a state religion upon americans. But that isn't appreciated by those who hate religion. Some of us who hate religion, logically find even the freedom of religion as barbaric.
Our founding fathers were deists, not Christians, Jews, or atheists. A large percentage of our founders were Freemasons. The rantings of this Borowicz person would have been shocking to them.
While embarrassing a grown adult believes in an invisible man in the sky, I still say....to each his/her own. If it gives people some type of comfort to believe prayers are being listened to and answered by some guy in the sky then so be it. We all have our quirks.
Some were Christians some were not. Jefferson was most certainly a deist who tried to make God over into his own image. His Daughter Certainly thought Washington A Christian though others in his own time disagreed, seems a man who played his Religious beliefs quite close to his vest. Bear in ind basing what some one religious preference was based on to days standards is a fools errand and one should recall the the Original King James Bible had been Around for a little more than a hundred fifty years at the time the Constitution was written and the language those men used was not utterly dissimilar to the Language found in it's pages.
