These quotes come from a sworn affidavit submitted by the conman's hand picked AG, Billy the Bagman, regarding Don's efforts to block the AT&T-Time Warner merger.

The DOJ's interference...."was inconsistent with decades with settled anti-trust law and the DOJ's own internal merger guidelines."
He wrote the DOJ's objections seemed to be based on "the President's prior public animus towards CNN and the merger."
He wrote the legal position was "the product not of a well-versed substantive analysis, but rather political or other motivation."

The New Yorker article reports Don pressured your's and my DOJ, not his DOJ, to block the merger because he didn't like the coverage he was getting from CNN.

NYT reporter Peter Baker notes in a tweet from Monday.........
"Worth noting too: the president of the United States just called for an economic boycott of one of the country's largest telecommunications firm as a way of pressuring a media organization to cover him in a way that he approves of."

Here's a good review of the entire matter.

Had Obama done this the right wing would (justifiably) be screaming for impeachment

Remember how crazy the righties got when Solyndra went under. They were screaming about how Washington (Obama) was "picking winners and losers." Yet Don has caused all manner of turmoil after inappropriately attacking companies like Harley Davidson, imposed steel tariffs, tariffs on China, attacked the Fed over interest rates, made erratic comments about trade negotiations,..........

Amazon and 16 other companies Trump has attacked since his election

Let's review. We all know how the Groper-in-Chief feels about CNN. We know he has said the merger "was bad for the country." We know he told Gary Cohn to have the DOJ file a suit to block the merger. We know the suit was filed though Cohn did not carry out Don's order (much like McGahn). And we know an abuse of power like that is an impeachable offense.

"Under the Constitution, use of presidential authority to punish political enemies is an impeachable offense. That conclusion emerges from the ratification debates, and it can be traced to the Revolutionary War."

I mean liberals who are desperste to find an impeachable offense

But everytime they try it flops

Now I think the public is turning them off and even if they manage to find something real no one is listening

So I read your answer is both the OP poster and the story in the OP. I agree and it will really wear thin when the clown car of dems get up on the stage and start throwing feces at each other.

There was no legal leg to stand on to prevent the merger. Only Don's animus towards CNN. So once again.........he was acting in his perceived own best interests, not abiding by the law, and not caring a bit about the country..........as usual.

Using the office of the POTUS to violate anti-trust law in attempting to block a legal merger for personal reasons is an impeachable offense. Making that observation is not ankle biting.

Utter nonsense and mythical history. Republican congressional leaders went to great effort to squelch any talk of impeachment.

    Please stop embarrassing yourself.

I did not say that no Republican ever mentioned impeachment. I just said it was vigorously squelched. Besides, since there was at least two bona fide impeachable offenses by Obama -- DACA and Benghazi (but not Bergdahl) -- it was not ridiculous in the least.

Not in the least. Pelosi is simply dancing a little cover jig. Both Boehner and McConnell issued direct explicit edicts that there will be no impeachment talk.

And yet they failed, as proven by the article I linked to.

More to the point, impeachment of Obama was baseless. Not so with Individual 1.

Reminds me a lot of how the Republicans have been screaming to lock up Hillary Clinton for decades. However in Trumps case, there appears to be actual crimes.

He opened another can of worms which ended up getting another sleazy lawyer locked up and exposed Trump as a whore chasing liar.
