I said conversations, as in general discussions. Their reading comprehension is markedly better than yours appears to be as well.

Trump will win because every D candidate places the welfare of non US citizens above the welfare of US citizens. The candidates "bulletin board" material from the first D debate will be used over and over again in R campaign ads.

No one is being ruled by anyone. As you have pointed out: Blue states are adopting their standards and everyone else has their own.

Your interpretation of information and facts is troubling.

Bush started his presidency with a 57% popularity rating; he won the second election with 57% popularity rating. Your claims
are not supported by the facts.

I'm certain that will be fine with everyone else that decided to retain their state power.

To highlight the pathetic and childish depths you keep trying to lower the conversation to.

I understand though, it’s the only direction you can go.

Maybe you can teach about how the Senate works since you now understand that it takes 60 votes to get anything done.

Of course it needs to go.

It's an antiquated, inherently unfair system for electing the president.

BUT … right-wing Neanderthals are literally SCARED TO DEATH of abolishing the EC.

That thought is literally like KRYPTONITE to the Neanderthals.

The Neanderthals start soiling their panties thinking about trying to compete on a truly level playing field such as the national popular vote.

The Neanderthals will SPIN like tops trying to justify the EC … and FIGHT TOOTH AND NAIL to keep the rigged system in place...

The reason democrats had a field day in the house is because so many republicans decided to quit. They had to get 40 seats to gain the house. Republicans only need 17 next election and the winning party usually get the most. At least the new democrats are showing how crazy they are.

Many people feel they are being overruled by the outdated system that is being discussed in this thread. While you can certainly dismiss their views as invalid it does not negate their point. Further many people do not even bother to vote if they live in a state that is extremely partisan — that itself is completely undemocratic.

What percent of the popular vote did Bush receive in each of these elections?

The states will still have complete power in the senate and a skewed power in the house. If republicans win the same number of elections through the NPVIC that they have won in the last 7 elections I doubt they will mind.

Most polling organizations and pundits are putting democrats gaining house seats and losing senate seats.
Trump is predicted to win the EC but lose the PV, again — he will be the first president to have never been elected by the will of the people and will likely be the only president to have never had a single day in office with a net positive approval raising — unless democrats and independents decide to show up this time.

But the election is still quite a distance so who knows.

We have already agreed that republicans in congress are inept and everything is the fault of democrats.

No need to revisit the issue

Yes. What is curious is that the “new” House D’s won on moderate policy but show absolutely no courage with regard to bucking the D party line on anything. The only reasons are that they ran on lies or are so afraid of the D party establishment. The R freedom caucus on the other hand continually goes against the mainstream. Indeed the freedom caucus is the reason we are still dealing with the disaster known as ObamaCare.

Well, if you can't prove to me that you're being overruled then I'm not obligated to featherbed such delusions. And if you feel as if your voice doesn't matter in a state with high partisan concentration, you can leave and move to a better state. I don't know why you expect everyone else to conform to please your sensibilities.

In 2004, he recieved 50.7% of the popular vote.

Or everyone will still elect their presidents through the EC and retain their state power.

I don’t expect anyone to conform to my sensibilities, but the majority — well, when they start being ignored they typically don’t respond well.

So that’s your final position, if you don’t like being treated as a quarter of a voter you can simply leave?
I wonder if you would have said the same to women or blacks when they were not satisfied with how the system was treating them?

    And in 2000?
Come on, you can do it. Then, after you do feel free to explain your previous position where you seemed to be unable to even imagine what I was speaking of.

Or the citizens of the states that are being told their vote is worth a quarter of a vote will band together and demand equal representation.

And again you fail to understand how the senate works. Without 60 votes nothing gets done. No Democrats have the courage to reduce spending or secure the southern border. They place the welfare of non US citizens above the welfare of us citizens.

Democrats by counting illegal immigrats and giving states like California more political power. They are discounting us citizens political power

Or they'll just stuff the states with illegal immigrats take the citizenship question off of the census and get false political power and disenfranchising actual citizens political power

Agreed with that. But that’s not what they are saying and the resist any attempt to scrub the voter rolls or require photo ID to vote as they do in most countries and as recommended by the UN.

Even when the Democrats had control for the first two years.
