Trump contradicts past denials, admits sending Giuliani to Ukraine

Emboldened after his impeachment acquittal, President Donald Trump now openly admits to sending his attorney Rudy Giuliani to Ukraine to find damaging information about his political opponents, even though he strongly denied it during the impeachment inquiry.

The reversal came Thursday in a podcast interview Trump did with journalist Geraldo Rivera, who asked, "Was it strange to send Rudy Giuliani to Ukraine, your personal lawyer? Are you sorry you did that?" Trump responded, "No, not at all," and praised Giuliani's role as a "crime fighter."

So, it appears that Trump was lying (all along) about the Rudy/Ukraine thing.

I guess we are seeing an example of a President that is emboldened by the fact that he is above the law.

I suppose this validated what may people thought all along.

Trump didn't necessarily reverse himself. Again, the central issue is not whether or not Giuliani went to Ukraine. That's irrelevant. The central issue, is whether it was to 'find dirt on his political opponent'. ModernPaladin put it excellently with a perfect question:

"Did you intend to get dirt for use in the election?" Yes or no, simple as that. If this information that Giuliani gathered is important and if it's vetted by the DOJ, we should take action on it. This is more interjecting words in the President's mouth. The President did not confess to a political operation. He confessed his trust in Giuliani over the "Official Channels."

Because the Official Channels are responsible for Crossfire Hurricane, the Impeachment, Kavanaugh(through Ford's antics) and much more. If they dislike that the President distrusts them, they can start by being obedient for once.

The ONLY time the left ever mentions the constitution is when they want to eliminate it, rewrite it, call it racist or accuse Trump of violating it.

And regarding no one being above the law, again, the ONLY time the left ever uses that phrase is when they want to go after Trump and not illegals. Comey spent 15 minutes describing the laws that were broken and then walked away.

Trump has his tiny thumbs on the scale, and his Gov't Lackeys will follow him into hell.

 

Ok, so philosophical question to ya then: Lets pretend that everything you and the Right believes about the Dems WRT their focus on law and order only being when it's against republicans. Why wouldn't it be a great idea for the Reps to take them up on those situations honestly, focus on the issue, get rid of the criminals within their ranks (because they do exist, regardless of anything else), and remove that arrow from the Dems quiver entirely? (We've prosecuted our own and held up the standard by which we proclaim)?

If the Dems can't say 'look your covering this up and that up and etc..etc..', wouldn't it make the Reps job of pointing out the hypocrisy of the Dems not expelling their own easier and clearer to everyone not on the Extreme?
