As a Florida resident I'm terribly concerned about all 3 factors and the expectation of increased death counts. If that remains reasonably low then I don't care about case count or positive rates.

The mask thing is still on the news but it's not an issue around me, 90-95%% compliance, triple what it was a month ago.

I think DJT wins Florida, have not seen but a handful of Biden signs or stickers, I've seen hundreds if not thousands of trump items

This all above is off topic...not sure why its .being discussed except that a thread about cat vids ends up as a trump argument these days.

    Anyway...

Is goya the only CEO to say nice things?

I thought way back when that apple and other big tech were doing some roundtables and were quite positive.

I think it might be fun to dig up some old comments from any big company and toss them under the bus as well, even out of context, who cares...

eventually the left will boycotting themselves.

Maybe goya should focus on doing more.

I think you're misunderstanding. The adage "we find more when we test more" is a way of dismissing an ever increasing amount of positive results by suggesting they were there all along and we only know it for a fact because we started looking. Its not scientific its more of a lie of statistics.

The rate at which positive results increase or decrease regardless of the sum total of net tests is factor I was suggesting you pay attention to - that's what virologists look to in order to gauge spread in a field where overall testing is predicted to change due to efficacy and access.

If you're not getting it look for someone else to explain it better because these are two different things; one is a proper indicator the other is an obfuscation.

You're lucky to have such a responsible community. Is it mandated there?

Nope. It was voted down, by 1 vote, I thought it was a good idea, avoid the businesses from having to deal with the outliers.

Oddly, convenience stores are crazy non compliant, so weird. They seem more dangerous than the grocery. Not exactly an upscale group in general. I guess maybe if you're buying a 12 pack of beer in three packs of smokes you really don't give a damn about a virus

I cant imagine any florida city residents not stepping up compliance. Maybe the very rural cities, but otherwise....that would be silly

I have to say that no I don't think that it is. Your words were "obviously there are more positive test because we are doing more test" which suggests its the act of testing the produces "more" positives. This is not the same as the rate at which those positives are occurring which is something that can be measured independently of the sum total of tests analyzed. Let me just throw up a quick simplification:

In each of those you could say "you found more because you tested more" but its the rate at which you found them over time that matters. Example 1 is a control showing that your rate of infections stayed on par with the rate at which you increased testing. Example 2 shows a rate of new infections outpacing the rate of increased testing. Example 3 shows the opposite. Florida is squarely in the example 2 category right now. Example 2 is an outbreak, example 2 is bringing the situation under control.

No, Fukushima is still very much a major contaminator of the Pacific Ocean. Since the first of the year Japan has been trying to figure out not only how to 'stop' the damaged reactors from creating more toxic radioactive poisons (futile!), but what to do with millions of tons of gallons of highly-radioactive water in their so-called 'storage tanks'. It's a gigantic, awful mess, and it won't be 'fixed' in the lifetime of anyone alive today....

I used to eat a lot of seafood from the Pacific, and snobbishly wouldn't buy anything unless it did come from the Pacific... but I haven't touched any of it since 2011, and I won't, either.

Anyway, I may have hit the jackpot... seems that Goya does produce a canned tuna called "White Tuna in Olive Oil". And, it comes from Spain! I didn't find it at Amazon, but I'll write Goya and find out where to get it....

At least Goya doesn't force their products down our throats like Dems in this case. How stupid to treat your fellow Americans as enemies simply because they have different beliefs. Just another reason we deserve Trump. Sad.

I was thinking that Dems should just open their own stores and only have democrat products. (antidepressants, weighted blankets, etc!)

I hope the CEO doesn't have a statue of himself in front of the building!

Well, Well, Well! Isn't THAT "Interesting!" It's only the electorally important Red State that you speak out about, while sitting silent about Grandma Killing New York with NINE TIMES the death rate.
Oh like "FL is a disaster" and it's pointed out to you that FL's record is 9 times better than NY's and 6 times better than NJ and CT? It's only "pointless" if your real concern has nothing to do with COVID.
Oh dear, you're breaking my heart!
Wonderful! You are attacking a position that no one occupies.
Maybe, maybe not. Time will tell. We'll work through the riot bulge. You didn't say squat about thousands crowding together in the streets and screaming through shared bull horns, isn't that interesting?
It's the bottom line. You only don't like it because of how effectively it destroys your claim.
You won't. Your governor isn't an idiot who forces COVID positive into Nursing Homes with common HVAC systems that spread it like wildfire.
No you're not. You kept silent during the riots: "Silence is Violence".
Yup. All your claimed "concern" and it's all ghoulish politics.
Wish-casting. Yet another July victory lap for a Nov election by the Dems.
Fake news. No one made such a claim. You should probably quite listening to the lying Fake News and look things up yourself. Knowledge is Wonderful!

I have mixed feelings about Goya speaking up. I think the right platform to fight on is the secret ballot, but then again, the Censorious Left cancelling a successful Hispanic business for "wrong think, wrong-speak" illustrates just how dangerous national power would be in the hands of these deranged nuts.

Any Americans that continue to support Donald Trump are my enemies.... until his political, judicial, or mortal demise....

Never remotely felt that way about Bush supporters, even though I felt they were wrong... I wonder why that is??

Thats a yuge advantage for Trump. If people respected others and were willing to work together, Trump would never have made it this far. Most of his support is the result of overreach and abuse of power from the other side.

I guess your post is just another example of why we deserve Trump. Sad.

I'm not Rich, Super Privileged, or a Lefty, but I am White and not buying Goya products until either a new CEO is on board, or this one is disabled in an avalanche of refried beans...

Grocery Store Mexican food is available from several vendors.... In lieu of clear product superiority, I'll choose the ones that actually support America. I thank this CEO for making that decision easier...

Has nothing to do with his heritage.... If his name was Sven Ericsson, the result would be the same...
