I didn't follow the Snowden event at the time so don't know the details of what he did but remember Trump supporters calling Snowden a traitor and a commie who should be executed.

A good and honest answer. :)

The short version: Snowden was an employee of the NSA and as such has of course signed the usual confidentiality agreement like all employees of a secret service. During his work he found that the NSA (and other US services) knowingly, deliberately, seriously and massively violate US laws and the constitutional rights of US citizens with regard to illegal wiretapping, etc.
So what to do Snowden opted for whistleblowing because he assumed (not wrongly) that the US judiciary would do nothing about this.

Consequence: Snowden is the traitor and the evil person ... but of the people at the NSA who ordered the violations of US laws etc., i.e. who committed a crime, no one has been charged in a US court or at least has so far lost his job out of it!

Really? I remember Sec Def Robert Gates stating for the cameras that what Manning had stolen and released harmed nobody at all.

In fact, both men paid heavy prices for exposing the crimes of government.

Then you are one of these very few righties who didn't want to put Snowden for lifetime into prison and to thrw the key away at best.

And what is about these Responsible people at NSA who ordered these criminal (criminal by any US law!) wiretapping and so on? Should they brought to court?

Well hell yes.....and thrown in prison for several decades without parole. Some outside the NSA...who covered up for the NSA...like Brennan, Comey, and Clapper....deserve death.

Any more questions or painting of Trump supporters with a broad brush?

And earn respect from people who believe in morality and democratic principles. Not many of us these days.

Snowden should be pardoned and celebrated by an old fashioned parade in every city in the world not just the US.

Along with Manning and Assange. True patriots and laudable principled people.

Trump like every scumbag in DC don't have moral centers nor democratic principles. All these treasonous bastards demand secrecy and lies to cover their evil deeds. They revel in evilness and prove that Satan's home is on earth.

They lie and deceive the people and if one of us busts them out they lock you up or kill you. And that is the truth of the big picture view.

Trouble is many of the complicit fascists believe this is OK.

Assange doesn't matter. I don't think he's even committed a crime against the US. But Snowden is different. If he comes back to the US, he absolutely should face trial. He damaged US national security by an incalculable degree.

Trump is crazy if he does this, but my guess is that he's doing his usual trolling.

I get the impression Snowden is a disinformation agent. Who he worked(s) for I do not know but his leaks were classic disinformation, mixes of truth and fiction merged. Assange has a different rythm and pattern to it.

Bottom line is Snowden leaked specific names knowing it could get people killed. That is not the actions of an idealist simply wanting to whistle blow. That is to me a disinformation agent seeking to engage in counter-espionage.

Regards, Boris Badinoff aka, James Bond, aka, Mat Helm.

That is true (or was true).
But interestingly, I pointed out in the past that all of the most vehement Snowden and Assange haters on this forum were Trump-haters.

Which seemed very paradoxical and enigmatic to me at the time, but I think we should pause and look at that because that is really saying something.

I specifically remember reading a conversation between a US ambassador and a South American official that had nothing to do with privacy rights. And it was the first file I cherrypicked.

2 sides go to war. One side has cameras/reporters capturing ever image they can to display on tv/YouTube to its population. And one side's population never sees any of this. If you were being considered for the job of running one of those war machines, which would you think makes YOUR job easier? The answer tells you why Manning committed treason when he released those attack heli video s.

Snowdon is in Russia by his own free will, and he's fearful he will not get a fair trial if he returns. He was lucky he was able to escape to Russia, Assange not so! Kind of reminds me of those who came here in order to escape persecution by the Soviets.

As for Assange, he was not an American so he's not a traitor. Nor did he ever come here, so he can't be considered a spy. He was set up by the Clintons and their supporters after he revealed the information Seth Rich gave him, and who paid for it with his life.

Here's a partial list of Bill and Hillary Clinton associates alleged to have died under mysterious circumstances. I posted only the most suspicious ones.

James McDougal – Clintons convicted Whitewater partner died of an apparent heart attack, while in solitary confinement. He was a key witness in Ken Starr’s investigation.

Mary Mahoney – A former White House intern was murdered July 1997 at a Starbucks Coffee Shop in Georgetown .. The murder …happened just after she was to go public with her story of sexual harassment in the White House.

Vince Foster – On July 10, 1993, Vince Foster committed suicide by a gunshot wound to the head, ruled a suicide. Foster was the Deputy White House Counsel at law. His body was discovered in Fort Marcy Park although no bullet was ever located. An initial witness stated there was no gun at the scene though one was later found prominently displayed on the body. Foster was an associate of long-standing with the Clintons who was concerned with Clinton campaign finances, and colleague of Hillary Clinton at Little Rock’s Rose Law firm.

Ron Brown – Secretary of Commerce and former DNC Chairman. Reported to have died by impact in a plane crash. A pathologist close to the investigation reported that there was a hole in the top of Brown’s skull resembling a gunshot wound. At the time of his death Brown was being investigated, and spoke publicly of his willingness to cut a deal with prosecutors. The rest of the people on the plane also died. A few days later the Air Traffic controller committed suicide.

Ed Willey – Clinton fundraiser, found dead November 1993 deep in the woods in VA of a gunshot wound to the head. Ruled a suicide. Ed Willey died on the same day his wife Kathleen Willey claimed Bill Clinton groped her in the oval office in the White House. Ed Willey was involved in several Clinton fund raising events.

Jerry Parks – Head of Clinton’s gubernatorial security team in Little Rock .. Gunned down in his car at a deserted intersection outside Little Rock Park’s son said his father was building a dossier on Clinton He allegedly threatened to reveal this information. After he died the files were mysteriously removed from his house.

James Bunch – Died from a gunshot suicide. It was reported that he had a “Black Book” of people which contained names of influential people who visited prostitutes in Texas and Arkansas

James Wilson – Was found dead in May 1993 from an apparent hanging suicide. He was reported to have ties to Whitewater..

Kathy Ferguson – Ex-wife of Arkansas Trooper Danny Ferguson, was found dead in May 1994, in her living room with a gunshot to her head. It was ruled a suicide even though there were several packed suitcases, as if she
were going somewhere. Danny Ferguson was a co-defendant along with Bill Clinton in the Paula Jones lawsuit Kathy Ferguson was a possible corroborating witness for Paula Jones.

Gandy Baugh – On January 8, 1994, Gandy Baugh committed suicide. Later attorney for Dan Lasater who was a previous client of Hillary Clinton as well as contributor to the Bill Clinton campaign and according to Arkansas sources was described as his “partying companion.” Lasater was a distributor of illegal drugs and also involved, represented by Baugh, in a case of alleged financial misconduct. Baugh unexpectedly threw himself out of a several-story building.

Florence Martin – Accountant & sub-contractor for the CIA, was related to the Barry Seal (he had the PIN to bank account of $1.46 million set up for Seal), Mena, Arkansas, airport drug smuggling case. He died of three gunshot wounds.

Suzanne Coleman – On February 15, 1977, Suzanne Coleman committed suicide. She is alleged to have had a sexual affair with Bill Clinton during the time he was Arkansas State Attorney General. Coleman was seven and one-half months pregnant at the time of her death when she shot herself in the back of the head. No autopsy was performed and there is consequently no scientific proof the baby belonged to Bill Clinton.

Danny Casolaro – On August 10, 1991, Danny Casolaro committed suicide. He was an investigative journalist who had been working to uncover the leads of several then-rumored Clinton scandals including activities at the Mena Airport in Arkansas and Arkansas Development Finance Authority. Casolaro was found dead in his hotel bathroom with both wrists opened though he had repeatedly informed his family and friends if he met such a fate it would not be suicide.

Jon Parnell Walker – On August 15, 1993, Jon Walker committed suicide. He was an investigator for Resolution Trust Corporation into the Whitewater Affair, and specifically the Morgan Guaranty scandal. Walker apparently jumped to his death from his apartment balcony.

Barbara Wise – Commerce Department staffer. Worked closely with Ron Brown and John Huang. Cause of death: Unknown. Died November 29, 1996. Her bruised, naked body was found locked in her office at the Department of Commerce.

Johnny Lawhorn, Jr. – Mechanic, found a check made out to Bill Clinton in the trunk of a car left at his repair shop. He was found dead after his car had hit a utility pole.

Ian Spiro - On November 8, 1992 he committed suicide. An international businessman and commodities broker as well as government associate-operative, Spiro was involved in collecting evidence in the INSLAW Affair which connected with Bill Clinton and wife Hillary. He told friends he had been receiving numerous death threats although when the bodies of his wife and five children were discovered by authorities in their home, and Spiro’s body dead of cyanide in his car, it was ruled a murder-suicide.

John Wilson - May 19, 1993, he committed suicide. A Washington D.C. Council Chairman and Civil Rights activist, Wilson was claimed to be involved in the Whitewater Scandal which focused on questionable land deals and money laundering tied to the Clintons. There is speculation Wilson was prepared to testify in regard to these matters when he instead hung himself in the basement of his home. He left no note.

Edward Willey - November 29, 1993 he committed suicide. He was the husband of Kathleen Willey, a former White House volunteer who stated on television that Bill Clinton had sexually assaulted her by forcing her to kiss him as he groped her. Edward was found dead by a gunshot wound to the head in his parked automobile. His wife Kathleen suggests he was murdered by operatives for the Clintons.

Shawn Lucas - August 2, 2016, he committed suicide. He was the man who served a legal complaint, a nationwide class-action suit for fraud, against the Democratic National Committee (later proved to have conspired against Bernie Sanders in the Democratic Primary election) and Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz. His girlfriend found his body on the bathroom floor.

Victor Thorn - On August 1, 2016, he committed suicide. He was the author of a trilogy on supposed nefarious dealings by both Clintons and a writer for alternative media website The American Free Press. The cause was a gunshot wound to the head. Incidentally, it was his birthday. Any correlation to the imminent election involving Hillary Rodham Clinton is alleged to be entirely circumstantial.

Seth Rich - The DC staffer murdered and “robbed” (of nothing) on July 10. Wikileaks founder Assange claims he had info on the DNC email scandal. “Rich, 27, was shot multiple times including twice in the back. His mother Mary Rich told the local NBC station that her son was found with bruises on his face, knees, and hands – signs that he fought for his life.”

John Ashe - the former President of the U.N. General Assembly was allegedly being set to testify against Clinton in a corruption case. The official reports indicated he died of a heart attack. The problem, however, is that police on the scene reported Ashe died when his throat was crushed during a work-out accident.

Joe Montano - an aide to Hillary’s running mate Tim Kaine, died of a heart attack on July 25, immediately after the Wikileaks announcement was made. He had worked for the DNC and was only 47.

Jen Moore - Investigative journalist Jen Moore was found dead in a suburban D.C. hotel room on July 2018. Moore investigated abused and trafficked children, and had been in the process of investigating allegations by a 26-year-old man that as a young boy he was sexually assaulted by Bill Clinton and pimped out at private sex parties attended by other D.C. elites.

Moore was interviewed about the Clinton case on July 13th by YouTube and radio journalist Farmer Jones. One month later, Moore was dead, her body found by employees at the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Washington, D.C. East – in Capitol Heights, Maryland. Just four weeks before her death, Moore filed details of the alleged victim’s claims with the Department of Homeland Security, detailing the allegations against Clinton.

Well ... I remember when Snowden was called to be a communist by them often too, aside all the others ... ehm ... "titles" he got here. Also I can remember, that those people made serious accusing towards Obama that he doesn't do his job to catch Snowden and bring in the US to court, often with the common hate tirades against Obama ... and these were for sure no "I like Obama people" ... and because those were for sure no "I love Hillary" then, they must be I love Trump people, isn't it?

OK ... but strange that you don't name their predecessor under President Bush Jr. ... because these people initiated these NSA programs and measures ... the ones you call continued to use them. Everyone of them is guilty ...

Shadowgate. I watched it on youtube before they removed it for "hate speech". Apparently, exposing government corruption is hate speech if it applies to Democrats. Her two government sources were in the video. Bitchute has it.

But something like that is anything but new and not something that only happens in the USA, but worldwide ... regardless of whether it is a democracy or a totalitarian state.
In the USA, the "blow everything dead" club is generally used in such cases: For reasons of national security!

Um you certainly want a lot of people charged. You are aware that Snowden released the intelligence gathering/spying tactics of many nations including UK, Canada, Netherlands, Australia, Japan, Germany, Sweden and more. Many examples of these countries spying on citizens or diplomats.

Guess which countries had SQUAT released about their intelligence gathering methods?

The above statements alone should suffice to convince people that Snowden was a traitor, regardless of how you feel about internet privacy.
