Oh lookie what we have here. The powers that control the Texas energy grid begged the Biden Administration to temporarily waive its new environmental regulations so it could better prepare for the energy crisis it knew it was facing.

    BIDEN SAID NO!

Will we see even a fraction of the manufactured outrage spewed by leftists over Ted Cruz taking a vacation? Hell no. Leftists the nation over, from government to media to this very forum, will ignore this at all costs because they are incapable of showing the intellectual honest necessary to hold their own failures accountable.

    LINK TO THE ORDER ITSELF

"The order shows Acting Energy Secretary David Huizenga did not waive environmental restrictions to allow for maximum energy output, instead ordering ERCOT to utilize all resources in order to stay within acceptable emissions standards – including purchasing energy from outside the state."

    Who is Huizenga?
"He is known as an expert on nuclear nonproliferation and nuclear waste management issues."

Let's hope the state of Texas and it's Congressional Delegation demands a hearing so the Biden administration can justify their actions.

I'm also reading some chatter that there might be a later order that did allow for a very partial energy buy outside of regulations but that the cost was so astronomic that Texas didn't go all in and that this *MIGHT* be the root of these huge energy bills people in Texas are seeing. Nothing solid on this just yet.

The order gave Texas everything they asked for, immediately after the request was made and retroactive.

Ah negative. ERCOT wanted to boost its maximum output to generate more in state. But to do that they would have to get a waiver on the number of regulations The Biden DOE puts on emissions. So Texas asked the Biden DOE and the Biden DOE, under command of President Joe Biden head of the Biden Administration and the Biden DOE just so we're clear of where the agenda buck stops on this one, said no. The Biden DOE told ERCOT to secure energy through other means that would not violate the emissions standards set by the Biden DOE, emissions standards that apparently ept Texas from responding to this storm properly.

Now I'm seeing that there's some 'fact checkers' <sarcastic quotes> out there claiming that the Biden DOE did indeed lift a regulation - the one limiting how much Texas could buy out of state. Buttttttttt dig a little deeper and you see that the price schedule for doing so was astronomical and thus prohibitive. Its like your house being on fire and the government, in this case the Biden government, says you cant use your own water hose but you can use your neighbors - and in the fine print you see it will cost you $50,000 per gallon.

This story is just gaining traction but don't worry we're going to be doing the fact-checker-shuffle here real soon. The spin is coming, get the popcorn!

They absolutely did not. They got an OK to exceed their output but NOT approval to have emissions regulations waived. In order to output they have to generate or buy. They couldn't generate because they couldn't stay under the emissions standards that weren't waived, and they couldn't really buy because as you can see the price was set almost 6000% higher than it was same time last year.

Its like me telling you that you can drive your car... but only if your tires don't touch the road, and if you want you can buy your neighbors tires but you have to buy them at $5000/each. Then to add insult to injury some 'fact checker' <sarcasm> comes in and says 'oh ya, apex told ron he could drive his car anyone who says otherwise is lying' and then walks away ignoring important details.

In an order that Huizenga signed just before 8 p.m. on Feb. 14, the Energy Department gave ERCOT permission to exceed the pollution limits for the requested period, but with language warning ERCOT to keep generation to what was absolutely necessary to curtail the emergency.

    It's a Houston TV station.

You're not even reading the order. If I open by saying you can do 'something' and then proceed to list all conditions in which you will have to do it, conditions I know you cant satisfy, have I really giving you permission? No. I've just diverted you along a different road that ends up right back at the same stop sign.

This would probably be funnier if I didn't think you might actually believe what you are saying.

Can you only imagine how the dems would handle this if it were Trump? There would be headlines of how Trump froze people in Texas.

So, let me get this straight.

    1) Texas individualists don't like the federal government and deregulate energy
    2) Texas get hit by a once in lifetime storm and their 3rd world energy grit collapses, which the deregulated power companies have gutted for profit.
    3) Power companies gouge customers for 1000s of dollars while not even delivering energy
    4) Conservatives blame green energy and, if that fails, blame Biden for not helping them.
    5) Texas conservatives look to the hated government to make them whole, so people don't get bankrupted by price-gouged energy bills.

You can't make this stuff up.

Consider the parallel plane to that ideological parabola exemplified by the California wildfire power crisis.

This I can assure you, the last place you'll ever find a solution to the problem, is from the Federal Government.
