Personally, I think Republicans are way out of step with the majority of America and have entered crazytown.

And, if anyone doubts this, look at what they are proposing across America, all of which will be triggered into law when SCOTUS reverses Roe v Wade:

    To wit:

    Idaho

After Roe decision, Idaho lawmakers may consider restricting abortion pills. Yes, they are considering making IUDs illegal!

    https://www.bendbulletin.com/health...cle_6bffadf2-d5e4-5d1b-beab-5abb28c96812.html

After Abortion ban, Idaho Republican Rep. plans to ban IUDs and Plan B contraceptive pills

    https://www.bolnews.com/trending/20...s-to-ban-iuds-and-plan-b-contraceptive-pills/

    Missouri

IUDs, Plan B Likely Illegal in Missouri Post-Roe.

So what, IVF and miscarriages could lead to murder charges?

    https://www.riverfronttimes.com/news/iuds-plan-b-likely-illegal-in-missouri-post-roe-37654014

    Arizona

Arizona GOP Senate candidate wants to ban contraceptive use in all states

    Ban condoms?

    https://www.azmirror.com/blog/gop-s...nts-to-allow-states-to-ban-contraception-use/

    Louisiana

Louisiana bill would allow murder charges for abortions; opponents call it 'barbaric'

It is a leaked draft memo.... nothing set in stone.

    Welcome to America....
If you don't like Idaho, Louisiana, Arizona, or Missouri laws... vote them out... maybe this not the way of your country, but that is the way we do it here in America...

We aren't. We are a federated republic. Well, we WERE a federated republic... Now, under the installed Biden Regime who does not recognize the federal constitution or any state constitution, we are 48 separate states and three oligarchies.

In every state, one person gets one vote. It is only in presidential elections that the EC is used.

If there are, they haven't taken over. But your admission that those I mentioned are "nuts" is duly noted.

The OP listed 4 states. I referenced 4 idiots. Your claiming it an 'extremist takeover' is just a wee bit hyperbole.

Your constant involvement of Trump in any conversation is a bit of a red flag for normal folk.

No four idiots do. Get back to me if any of that BS becomes law. Unless one is a devout Roman Catholic one has no problem with contraception other than abortafacients.

    Definition of democracy

1a: government by the peopleespecially : rule of the majority
b: a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections

Right now it's 4 idiots. Lets hope it stays that way. Actually lets hope those 4 idiots wise up.

But considering this is only a couple weeks after the leaked draft opinion, it is highly likely that more extremist Republicans will be emboldened to attempt similar things.

However, it is true that it is far too hasty and early to paint the entire Republican party with the same brush when it comes to this. They have their extremists just like the Democrats have theirs.

But it's absolutely worth keeping an eye on. Right now it's 4 idiots...What will it be in a few more weeks?

Perhaps women should be forced to carry IUD cards if they want to remain employed! Chastity belt mandates are reasonable, right?

    Hitler was very popular.

“As early as March 3 [1933] three hundred university professors of all political persuasions declared themselves for Hitler in an election appeal, while the mass of the students had gone over to the National Socialists considerably earlier. As early as 1931, the party with 50 or 60 percent of the votes, enjoyed almost twice as much support from the universities as in the country as a whole.” Joachim C. Fest, The Face of the Third Reich, “Portraits of the Nazi Leadership,” Pantheon Books NY 1970, P. 249. (Internal quote Karl Bracher taken by Fest from Bracher Sauer, and Schulz, “Die nationalsozilistische Machtergreifung”), P. 252.

IOW, America's founders creation of the Electoral College was a very smart move.

I simply don't believe that a leaked Supreme Court draft and proposed legislation in 4 backwater states means the end of abortion as a right and the nationwide banning of contraception.

Claiming that such is the case is simply fear mongering hyperbole.

Since a good part of our planet's problems come from overpopulation, I fully support making contraceptive measures as easy to obtain as possible. For the same reason, I support the freedom to have an abortion.

In too many cases it is the people who are least prepared to be stable and responsible parents who are bring new lives into this world for others to feed, educate, clothe and shelter.

In my many years as a Case Worker in the Juvenile Justice system I dealt with countless parents who were entirely unfit and / or incapable or properly raising a child. Sadly, the maladjusted children of these unfit parents were, themselves, having children and the tragic cycle goes on.

So, yes, the OP does make some discouraging claims and I may be wrong but I strongly believe that abortion and contraceptives will and should be readily available throughout the US for at least the next 10 years.

    Thanks,

They'll probably criminalize the condom, and you have to buy them in the black market.

Give them your little finger and they take the whole arm, and more.

I see... So the "states" are the "idiots" you referenced. And that (the "states") were who you thought I was referring to when I said that extremists had taken over the Republican Party,

This is a good post to keep in case anybody asks for evidence that more right-wingers have trouble with reason and logic than the average Joe.
