60 wounds seems like a lot but there were apparently 13 officers firing at him so I guess it makes sense. They should have kept firing as long as he was standing. If any of them shot him after he was down that might be a different story.

The guy had a ski mask on, yes it's overkill but let's not use the "unarmed black man" card. There are stronger cases than this to defend and this guy either just committed a crime or was about to, no other reason for a ski mask.

But it is NOT for the police to decide to give him the death penalty...especially if he hadn't committed à crime yet!

Why did ALL 13 police fire at him?
    Why not two or three?
Where is the training necessary to be a professional force acting in proportion to what is necessary?

So 2 or 3 would have been better?

He shot at the police and then ran. Those are crimes.

If you have possession of a gun, and someone fires at you, what would you do? Would you fire back to save your life or attempt to "wound" him and hope he is wounded enough not to be able to continue firing? What chance are you willing to take to save your life?

Are we disputing that situation you describe or we disputing a whole firing squad executing someone?

I'm disputing this posters idea of not killing someone and instead wounding them so they can go to court, which he stated several times.

Ithink it's the overkill that pixie is more concerned with.

Is there a way to kill someone too much? Deader than dead?

Sure. That's what gangstas do, shoot dead bodies. In gang culture, doing that is sending a message. The mafia does it too but they put your crown jewels in your mouth.
Different gangs have different rituals, the police obviously like the firing squad because of its Nazi connotations perhaps.

Have you been living under a rock since 2015?

Have you refused to read the Mueller Report and the Senate Intelligence Committee Report on Russian Interference? Familiarized yourself with the facts in the Michael Cohen campaign finance crimes, or watched the 1/6 hearings? Read Judge Carter's memorandum?

No, he's not guilty automatically. He's guilty IMO because the verified things he's done. Another unreasonable and quite ignorant post, Rob.

That's brutal, I'd prefer 30-60 rounds. Nice response though.

Well, you are welcome to have creeps like Jayland Walker roaming around your neighborhood (a populated area), on the run from police after refusing orders to stop. He had a gun, it had been fired, and he was a very real potential danger' to everyone near him.

I'm still trying to figure out why all these morons are so intent on refusing to obey simple police instructions. If the police screw up, all these perps have to do (especially if they're 'minorities') is to get a lawyer and sue the hell out of anybody they can 'velcro' into the case -- and walk away with a boatload of cash! But, hey, if they're too STOOPID to do that, then let 'em run, and suffer the consequences....

    YES.
    60 hits!
How dead does someone have to be?
I am commenting on the ATTITUDE of the police to their job.

He fired at the police and ran. There was no way for police to know he no longer had a gun and he was a danger to the officers and anyone in the area. He went from a traffic stop to a gunfight by his own choice. he lost.

I bet they all wanted to go home at the end of shift. How's that for an attitude?

That is closer to professional behaviour.
    60 hits is not.
NO ONE needs 60 hits to stop being à threat. It speaks more about the polices John Wayne approach to the public. Suspended self control
