‘The guy won’t pay and he won’t listen’: Four top law firms refuse to represent Trump in Russia probe

    four-top-law-firms-refuse-to-represent-trump-in-russia-probe/

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/four-top-law-firms-turned-requests-represent-trump-122423972.html

Yahoo News’ Mike Isikoff reports that the White House recently reached out to some of America’s top lawyers to see if they would work for Trump on the Russia investigation, including Brendan Sullivan of Williams & Connolly; Ted Olson of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher; Paul Clement and Mark Filip of Kirkland & Ellis; and Robert Giuffra of Sullivan & Cromwell.

However, all of these lawyers turned the White House down, forcing the administration to rely on longtime Trump attorney Marc E. Kasowitz instead.

“The concerns were, ‘The guy won’t pay and he won’t listen,'” said one of Isikoff’s sources, who is described as a “lawyer close to the White House.”

Another attorney tells Isikoff that Trump’s toxic political image at the moment made firms reluctant to be associated with him, as they feared association with Trump would hurt their efforts to recruit top talent to their firms.

Trump is radioactive. How did anyone on his team ever expect him to hold up to the type of scrutiny that a POTUS receives? WTF were they thinking! Dubya has been thoroughly knocked out of first place as the worst in this lifetime and that's no easy feat.

More anonymous sources, I mean since you listed the firms you would think you could get one named source. Not the fake news way though.

Are you delusional? What are you talking about..........these lawyers will only represent clients that have their own interests based in reality. Trump has not paid so many Americans that he could only get money from mobbed up Russians and Chinese buying influence.

Yep, makes perfect since for a law firm to run out and brag about turning down the President of the United States for a client. I mean nothing says trust us like bragging to the press.

I didn't know that lawyers had ethics. I thought they'd represent anything.........but I guess they found someone sleazier than they are !!!

If they really did this, they are guilty of numerous ethics violations, and civilly libel for some. Sounds like more bullshit to me, that , or these are the most ignorant law firms in history = unlikely Pres.Trump has ever spoken to them.

When you walk in the door, or call on the phone your privacy rights kick in. Try the actual truth/facts, for a change.

"In general, as long as the prospective client is seeking legal advice or representation and reasonably believes the communication will be confidential, the consultation is privileged. This is so even if the would-be client never pays or hires the attorney."

It has nothing to do with who they turned down. How can anyone go to a lawyer ready and willing to brag about turning clients down? Can you really trust said law firms to even to do a consultation on your case much less represent you? I wouldn't.

I don't really care if a lawyer turned him down. Plus can we really know the reason? They may say it's for nonpayment but it could just as easily be because they don't like his politics. How much can you really trust a lawyer willing to drag potential clients through the press for a little publicity?

They violated Pres.Trumps rights to privacy, if the story is true. (BIGTIME CIVIL LAWSUIT= BIG BUCKS)

And if it is, they are the most IGNORANT LAW FIRMS IN HISTORY....sounds like more Fake News bullshit to me.

If a law office is bragging about turning clients down to the press I'm guessing they aren't all that interested in staying in business.

    Insanity.

No credible attorney would divulge client or potential client information. Ever! It's an advertisement for failed fiduciary.

    Get real.

    Cheers
