You have no evidence that gun culture has anything to do with why people shoot each other or commit crimes. That culture also has a variety of issues that are not related to legal gun ownership. Legal gun owners are not to blame for any of this.

 

I'm sure High School isn't a Picnic for some students and there certainly is a Hierarchy among students. Some boys are born socially inept and unattractive and others are Athletic, attractive and get all the attention from faculty and the Girls, because they're stars on the Football team or the attractive girls are Cheerleaders and elected Homecoming Queen, while the unattractive overweight girls have to sit on the sidelines. There are even disparities between kids from wealthy families and poor families, where the wealthy kids get the Cool cars, nice clothes and the latest Iphones, while the poor kids look on in envy. You don't normally see this violence in private schools, where there's a Dress code, so maybe Public schools need to start modeling themselves after those schools instead of fueling the Rage some of these kids have that causes them to lash out like Ethan Crumbley.

 

Okay, but struggle to see the relevance using a BB Gun statistic?

Quick story,
My girlfriends boy @12 almost 13 was beat on everyday relentlessly by bullies and everyday he begged "Go ballistic" her not to go and bitch because it would just make it much worse! So one day he says "I'm going home and get a gun and come back and kill all of you", ya BAD THING to say I WILL AGREE.. Needless to say he never made it home that day and didn't make it home until just a few months ago after a 2+ years of boy prison..

It's a long story, he never had access to a firearm and the biggest reason he bought two years is because when the judge asked him if he meant it he told him "Hell ya I did" *shakes head*... End result, no one beats on him anymore and he is fully institutionalized and knows how to protect himself thanks to state boys detention..

Schools and Kids are crazy today, I just watched a video circulating here "Our High School" where a kid comes to school in a pair of $700 kicks and claims anyone that takes them can have them. There were over 13 knock down drag out before the end of the school day before the final contestant left with the prize..

Many countries have plenty of gun ownership, but only the USA has elevated this to a cult status.

 

In my country carrying a BB gun without good reason in public is a reportable crime. And many crimes use air guns, which are easily obtained as it is not against the law to own and use an air gun on your property, which is why they are recorded in the crime figures and still counted in the gun crime figures. But people like Ddyad think that the reported gun crime figures refer only to the use of a "real" gun

Yeah! I get it, High School shouldn't be a Fashion show, but a place to learn where everybody is treated equally, but that certainly isn't happening and until some changes are made, these types of Mass School shootings are going to continue to happen. I don't understand why there isn't more of an emphasis helping kids that are being bullied and punishing the Bullies, School should be not only for learning, but also building Character, but as always the Jocks and the Cheerleading Princesses are treated as Royalty. If I had a kid of age today, I'd put them in Private school instead of subjecting them to all the BS of Public Schooling. What the Hell would be so wrong with kids having to wear a School Uniform and carry nothing but a base model Flip phone on Campus.

 

Segregation concept is alive and well within our youth, question is, where are they getting it from.. Social media maybe

 

Liberals NEVER! discuss taking away the Guns from Criminals first and prosecuting them to the fullest extent of the Law, but would rather just group Criminals and LEGAL responsible Gun owners into the same bunch. Democrats can scream gun restrictions all they want, but until they prove to Conservative Gun owners that believe we need Guns to protect ourselves from the Illegal Gun carrying Criminals that Democrats release into our communities through a Revolving door justice system, who also want to Defund our Police Departments, WERE! going to continue to keep them and ad more to our Arsenals. Fyi, there are plenty of weapons, guns, that are capable of multiple killings in less time.

That’s the entire problem. You won’t blame the person who commits the crime you’re trying to blame everything else but the person responsible. It’s disingenuous to blame an entire group of legal gun owners for one moron.

 

The blame is on the perpetrator, for sure, but also on how easy it is for kids to get their hands on guns. We had now two recent events where an underaged boy obtained a gun they shouldn't have had, leading to people getting killed. Why? Because guns are abundant in the US. They are everywhere. The more abundant something is, the easier it is to obtain. Simple science (and economics).

That's exactly the responsibility of the parent, the same way it's their responsibility to keep them from booze or car keys. I'm pretty sure booze is more readily available but you don't hear anyone getting fussy about that.

That's gun culture, you did not differentiate over criminals with guns. There's a big difference. I'm not even sure what a "gun culture" is that could not be applied to any other thing in America. That said, of course we have more gun deaths here. Other countries still have murders, it's just they are subjects of their gov, not citizens. That and this country is vastly different in many ways than other countries.
