and jobs are in the towns & cities, this is how it is with Russia currently, unlikely to change anytime soon; infrastructure also requires financing that involves tax system to be built; i don't want this to happen, don't want to pay taxes; they already have introduced a land tax here in Russia a couple of years ago, a measure that seems apocalyptic enough to me.

good for them, but it turns out to be costly, since the US has now to go out of its way and make war around the world in order to sustain itself, not to mention the taxes & fees Americans have to pay.

30 Story buildings do not really constitute the definition of High Rise in the United States.

When we say...."HIGH RISE".....we are talking about 60 to 70 Stories High and up.

There are hundreds upon hundreds of small cities in the United States that have much taller buildings than the pictured of Socci posted here.

For instance in a few small Massachusetts cities that are west of Boston you will see buildings taller than those in Socci.

So for us..."HIGH RISE".....is a building that is 60 to well over 100 stories high.

The Empire State Building which was for a long time the worlds tallest building at 1,454 Feet tall started construction on March 17, 1930

    It has 102 Floors.

AND THAT WAS BACK IN 1930-1931!!!!

    THAT...is a HIGH RISE.

this cannot be called 'suffering' - wrong wording. Russians have never been into masochism. Russia is a well-off country.

The Russian Economy is declining by 4.5% to 7% YEARLY.

    Putin himself has acknowledged this.

This is known as a state of ECONOMIC DEPRESSION.

The Russian people are not that well off.

Take a look at National Wealth.

#1 is the United States at $85.901 Trillion.

#2 is China at $22.817 Trillion.

#3 is Japan at $19.837 Trillion.

Then #4 is the U.K.....#5 is France....#6 is Germany....#7 Italy....#8 is Canada....#9 is Australia and #10 is Spain.

    Where is Russia?????

    #23 at $1.284 Trillion.

    LINK.....https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_wealth

Just to show how low total National Wealth is in Russia #22 ahead of Russia is New Zealand at $1.320 Trillion.

Whilst the US is 'kicking cans down roads' with a $20tr national debt outstanding? I'm afraid you're in for a macro-economic shock in the very near future.

    Unlikely.

With Oil so low the U.S. Economy is growing at an ever increasing rate.

So when are you gonna start paying (down  ) the national debt then? You know - before the roof needs fixing?

The National Dept needs to be paid down no doubt.

But such a thing is easy when the U.S. Economy booms.

Because I help run several now very large family owned companies I am aware that the U.S. Economy even though it is strongly growing is on the verge of a massive economic boom.

Most likely this will occur right after the Presidential Election.

Every time the U.S. Economy is about to begin a long term period of explosive economic growth it is due to a new U.S. Developed World Changing Technology becoming made available for the world population.

    Examples are....

    A/C Electric Power.
    The Telephone.
    Modern Farming
Mass Assembly Line Production of the Automobile.
    Atomic Power.
    The Personal Computer.
    The Internet
    GPS
    Intelligent Phones....etc.

Right now there are two perhaps three World Changing Technologies that the United States has developed and will be made available to the public and this will change the world upon a greater level than even the Internet, the PC and Intelligent Phones have done.

    #1. FUSION GENERATED POWER.

Lockheed Martin had announced a few months back that it has tested and confirmed a major breakthrough in Fusion Reactor Tech. The U.S. Military working with Lockheed at first in secret but later they reported a 3rd and 4th successful test of Low Temp. Micro-Fusion Power Generation.

Now LOW TEMP. does not mean Cold Fusion as Low Temp. is still hot in the extreme but not so hot it cannot be contained. Containment has always been the issue.

    #2. Nanobot Technology.

This is something that could represent part of the next stage of Human Evolution along with Genetic Engineering and the U.S. is WAY ahead of everyone else in this field.

    #3. Viable Electric Car Battery.

A U.S. Company that makes an expensive Electric Sports Car and the name eludes me...but the car is expensive at around $100,000.00 and is all electric and can go 0-60 in 3.7 seconds and has a top speed of over 170 mph......the OWNER of this company has decided to sell the rights to use the Ground Breaking Electric Motor Tech to GM and Ford.

It only costs $5 worth of Electricity as you plug the cars battery into a garage electrical outlet to fully charge this car battery and it has a range of over 600 MILES on $5 worth of home electricity!!!

There are perhaps a few more World Changing U.S. Technologies but the point is every time such technology is introduced for sale to the world population not only does the world change but as well the U.S. Economy BOOMS.

When it booms it becomes very easy to pay down the debt.

If you live far North or far South those areas of the world get far less hours of sunlight than areas loser to the equator.

Lack of sunlight is linked to extreme depression and alcoholism.

Places with dreary weather also have higher incidences of depression. I think vitamin D and bright skies definitely make a difference. I have read depression is higher in industrialized countries than poor countries. Most of the US takes meds for anxiety and depression.
Alcoholism and alcohol consumption are not the same. This is a topic I know a good bit about. There is a very strong genetic componet regarding alcoholism. Taking an alcoholic to a sunny, new place won't remedy the problem.

There is more STRESS on average for American's are we are a highly educated and multitasking workforce.

However the amount of stress generated by poverty, disease and poor living conditions in poor 3rd world nations is not reliable data and I would think that stress is very high in such conditions.

I think we like an immediate fix and kmow it's available.
I think simplicity isn't really an American ideal.
Americans cannot fathom life in a third world country...

I love my country. I am so lucky to have been born here. We are constantly inventing. We are fiercely individual, patriotic, independent, proud, unique...spirited...

It angers me when American's take their freedoms for granted.

And although many places in Europe and Asia are beautiful.....you can only stay there for so long as an American before you want to come home.

I have never been outside of the US.
I'd love to see Rome and the pyramids.
We frequently take our freedoms for granted and we dont deserve them if we do not preserve them.

There are many areas in Italy that are beautiful and Rome is the most touristy area.

As far as Egypt....I have been there many times but right now is not exactly the best time to go do to all the issues over there.

    My back yard in Fall.

    Alaska in summer.

Chicago to see the Red Sox play the White Sox and have a Extra-Dry Vodka Martini at the top of the John Hancock Building overlooking Chicago and then see a Blues band on the Navy Pier.

    Yellowstone......Redwood National Forest......Grand Canyon....Glacier National Park.

    It's tough to chose.
