I think you've hit the nail on the head there, Doug.....alcoholism in such a depressing society is a means of escape from reality. I wonder how many would flee to the US if conditions to migrate were more favorable?

Racism in the USA is plain to see. Hateful people creating topics to insult another nation.

If usa wants to give lessons. Do they have anything beyond hate?

AA, as a scientist I agree with you on these statements :) We should change the name of the forum from political one to scientific :)

I would doubt that. There are more cases of suicides in Russia than in the US.

Your scientist right? And science nothing without reliable data.

    Add in politics is propoganda.

How know anything is true with national statistical data.

Every government lying in geopolitics game.

Right, Loki. But sometimes we have to rely on some information we can not assess by any other means apart from wikipedia. I do not see the reason here why the statistical data on suicide rate should be falsified by the US statistical agency.

Of course you do. Same reason it has always been. Look at Americans on here. They believe Russia more, usa less.

    Propoganda.

Unless world changes to be deviod of geopolitical competition. No one believe each other's data.

And your far too clever to believe wiki.

Most countries have managed to create sound institutions to do these things. State-building 101.
European statistics are quite good. You can easily access a lot of them here http://ec.europa.eu/eurostat
Otherwise you can go to an individual countries site like this http://www.danmarksstatistik.dk/en
Many of them are also available in English.

Wouldent it be great if world like that. Scientists separated from geopolitics. Governments not leaning on them to smudge data to make it more appealing to outside sources.

    I respect your idealism.

I'm sad that you live in such a depressing state that you can't even trust your statistics. Faith in your institutions is important and it will always be hard to have a functioning state if that is missing.
Do you have any sources on the idea that national statistics cannot be trusted in a western country?

    See above.

Western nations are at war with Russia and you expect stats to be taken seriously.

It's all part of the same geopolitical game.

As I said. I respect your idealism but not your realism.

Damn. You live in a depressing world.
My realism tells me that I can trust Danish statistics and European in general. You failed to provide any sources to back up your claim so I guess you have none.

I think you should consider changing the sources you get information from.

Yes. Information influences my opinion on things. I have been forming my opinions through reading all sorts of information for many years.
    You should try it.

So... Do you have a study that shows serious flaws with the institutions and the information they provide?
