Then that law should be repealed + along with the law preventing anyone from suing gun manufacturers

If there was a large group of people he was firing at he was bound to hit some of them with something.

Of course the bullet would go much further than 150 yd.

And Tucker Carlson has come out to defend him as a “victim” so he has just got to be a Trump supporter” because that is part of the narrative

Apparently the shooter only did what he did because he was

    A) smoking “government sanctioned weed
    B) pharmaceutical drugs apparently given to him by a “school councillor (???)
    C) because “they are angry” because their lives won’t be better their parents
    D) Women’s fault for blaming men for being “privileged “

Sounds like Chris Covelli mispoke as he later goes on to say that the gun the shooter had at Madison was the Sub2000 (7:02 mark) and Madison is two hours drive from Highland Park
    https://www.pbs.org/newshour/nation...te-on-arrest-of-alleged-highland-park-shooter

Chris Covelli referred to the gun used on the roof as a "high powered rifle". No one would describe the Sub2000 as a high powered rifle

He did own a Rem700, but don't yet know what caliber, and while it is the only high powered rifle he owns, he assuredly did not use that in Highland Park.

You have to ask yourself why the media would say high powered rifle resembling an AR15.

And if liberals want to know the difference between this and their argument it's actually very simple: The gun is still, yes an inanimate argument but with these drugs, they alter psychological behavior which has a DIRECT impact on the suspect. This is something we should look at, but liberals are surprisingly pro-big pharma.

Chris Covelli is the deputy Chief and he referred to the gun used as a "high powered rifle". Your link to ammoland land has posted false information as Chris Covelli later on states that the Sub2000 was still in the shooters car when he was stopped at Maddison, two hours drive from Highland Park

Huh? A national data base accessible by law enforcement. I already effectively answered that by the part of my post you deleted "By tracing who purchased that gun allowed the authorities to catch the murderer within a few hours. Otherwise he would still be out there no doubt planning his next mass shooting"

The sub2000 is a PCC, not a rifle caliber. The press only knows Glock and AR, no other gun words exist so that’s why they’re confused.

Well as I said earlier, I think that the serial number is just so that it can be traced back to the gun shop. My guess is that the cops called the gun shop owner who then voluntarily gave them the name, because all gun shops are required by ATF to keep that info.

not really. a registry would allow the ATF to type in the serial number and firearm make and a name would pop up. what they have to do now is this.

    1) contact the manufacturer or importer
    2) find out which wholesaler or retailer (some makers sell direct to dealers-some only to wholesalers) received the firearm
    3) go to the retailer and demand to see the records that the retailer is required to keep
    4) pull the 4473 that the purchaser filled out to buy the firearm
    5) contact the purchaser to ascertain if the purchaser still has the firearm

If the buyer no longer has it-that generally ends the inquiry. I will note what happened with me about 10 years ago. A boy I used to shoot with made the Olympic team in 1996. He also had a part time job as security at a local establishment. When he turned 21,I gave him a Beretta 92 handgun. this was around 1996 or slightly later. in 2012, I received a call from the dealer I bought the pistol from. He said the ATF had inquired about the gun, apparently someone had been pulled over and claimed he had bought the gun from the man I had gifted the gun to. My dealer buddy said he recalled this was the gun I gave the Olympian and he told the ATF but they wanted to be certain. So I called the Olympian and he noted that after he started his real career, he ended up selling the gun to a good friend who had a similar job in security. The Dealer called the ATF and told them the man pulled over had the gun legally but they could call either the Olympian or me for further information. I was informed that the ATF SA said that since the guy was not a prohibited person, (he had been detained for some misdemeanor traffic offense when the police found the handgun in the trunk) they were returning the firearm and closing the case

The problem with this is that the police would have to rely on the gun store giving them the name which according to Sink is illegal. The other problem is if the gun was purchased in a different area
