"Media bias" is a subjective assessment. Mainstream Americans favour mainstream media and those on the left deem it rightist whilst those on the right deem it leftist.

There is also no shortage of blatantly biased media operations to pander to the antipodal extremes these days.

Just for the record. This is the part of my post that you totally ignored.

"Really? Fox News refused to cover which candidate with their political team?"

Do you care to tell us which candidate Fox is refusing to cover? That's right... you can't, because your post was a lie. Caught on the inside again braugh.

Man. You're still defending Trump even after he disparaged POWs?

McCain started it. With all his talk about "crazies". Tell me again who's being petty?

    - - - Updated - - -

    He didn't disparage POW's.

    He disparaged McCain.

He said that the fact that McCain was a POW doesn't make him a hero. By logical extension, American POWs are not heroes.

    And he'd be right.

    No, that's "liberal logic".

You won't find that kind of logic in any math book anywhere.

In fact, the only place you'll find it is on Wikipedia, under "fallacy".

    What fallacy exactly?

    Let's have some logic 101.

If being a former POW doesn't make McCain a hero, then that means that being a hero is not a sufficient condition to make someone a hero.

If being a POW is not a sufficient condition to make someone a hero, than no POW can be a hero unless he has done something in addition to being a POW that is sufficient to make someone a hero.

No, that's the exact same thing. If being a POW isn't enough to be a hero, than our POWs are not necessarily heroes.

    LOL :)

Here's what you said the first time:

And here's what you said the second time:

That extra little word there, makes all the difference in the world.

So he wasn't saying ALL POWs are not heroes. Only those POWs who didn't do anything else to qualify as heroes are not heroes?

Do you know how ridiculous you sound? Why do you bend over backwards to defend this guy?

LOL - more liberal "logic". :roflol:

Ask me if I care. Go ahead, ask me.

See, unlike you, I'm willing to take plenty of personal lumps if it means my country comes out ahead.

    I'm not defending anyone.

I'm merely pointing out that lefties are significantly delinquent in the area of "logic".

    QED, I think. :)

This is the most pathetic retreat I've ever seen. You're cornered. Give up.

Trump said that McCain is not a hero for being captured. Therefore, by implication, a POW is not a hero. But of course, you would remind us that Trump didn't rule out the possibility that a POW might have done something else above and beyond being captured to become a hero. :roflol: So there might be some former POWs out there who are also heroes for reasons entirely independent of their capture.

Are you kidding? Instead of slinking away in defeat, you're back here asking for more! Well okay, I'm ready to dish it out. ;)

    We agree.

Not "just" for being a POW, correct.

Correct. Being captured does not make you a hero.

Absolutely. And I think The Donald would be the first one to tell you that's true.

Trump didn't say anything about "POW's", he clearly used the word McCain in every sentence he uttered.

The innuendo in Trump's words, the thing that no one really wants to look at, is the concept that those who get shot down are somehow "worth less" than those who don't.

And the strange thing is, that in all FIVE threads on this topic, and all the multiple pages and posts in EACH thread, no one's touched this issue. No one's even discerned it, or spoken up about it.

If you have a beef with Trump's words, that is where it should be. (And nowhere else).

I'll let the service people speak up now, and let them tell you if it's any "worse" being shot down, than not being shot down. (Not having served in the active military, I will defer to those who have, and ask them to share their views on this point).

No we get it. If you're captured, it must be because you're worth less than those who are not. Because whether you are captured or not depends ENTIRELY on forces within your control.

In either event, I can assure you that nobody cares about Trump's opinion on what makes someone a war hero, or yours for that matter. I'm certain that 99% of Americans would agree that POWs are war heroes per se. You don't need to be John Rambo to be a war hero. The tortures you endure as a POW are bad enough. Nobody is dumb enough to second-guess that (*)(*)(*)(*). Well, almost nobody.

There you go. See how easy that was? "Forces within your control". Exactly. Bingo. That is the brass tack, IMO.

Yeah well.... there's still a lot of Americans who have no love for our military. I'm not one of them, I greatly respect our armed forces. They're the best in the world. No one else can hold a candle to 'em. And that's because of the individuals who make up the force. We're the best, that's all there is to it. And I'd watch John McCain's six just as quickly as I'd watch Rambo's, when you're out in the field all that political disagreement stuff better go away or everyone's in trouble.

Nah man - it's the "forces within your control" bit, that's the real issue here. All this talk about Trump's "words" is just a limp noodle. The larger context is border security, that's what Trump was talking about, and that's what he's been talking about.

Border security. Is it within our control, or isn't it?

A random outside Source says, "Trump will be visited by 4 ghosts this Christmas". The outcome is said to be 4 fired ghosts and an America that doesn't learn from it's past.

The right wing entertainment media machine has carried the Trump about as far as he can go as a stink bomb in the Republican boudoir.

As the flavour of the week, even amidst the GOP's bland menu, his Sour Grape/Trinidad Moruga Scorpion offering does not have much of a shelf life.

So, typically, the Angry White Guys' infatuation implodes with yet another petty, crass snivel, having never risen to the threshold of civil, substantive discourse.

What could be more charming than a pampered, privileged draft dodger going out of his way to demean American POWs?

Ah Natty, up to your old tricks again I see. Ratcheting up the rhetoric a little this morning, are we?

Complete with a "turd" party reference! Very good, you're been doing your homework.

Mr. Trump's been expecting you though. He works Sundays, did you know that? ;)

Surely, my modest cajolery does not approach the magnitude of your man's:

    .

"He's a war hero because he was captured! I like people who weren't captured!"

Try to keep your focus on the spectacle, and stop obsessing upon my humble comments. That's the least that your Trump would demand of you.

Gallup finds that only 25% of Americans think the Trump is a serious candidate, so reputable media treating him as if he were would be a farce.

You cannot elevate Citizen Trump's status by attempting to put him on a par with the Senator, although some do attempt such a ploy.

A brief perusal of what serious GOP candidates are saying about the Trump, and what Sanders' Democratic rivals are saying about him underscores the substantive differences that result in the disparate perspectives.

That said, I would certainly hope that the Trump continues to dominate headlines. It's great fun!

Wrong he disparaged POW'S in general.

    - - - Updated - - -

They are both sideshows and polling equally and I hope Sanders keeps it up because he is doing the same to the Democrats.

But I doubt you will see any such self-serving statements and refusals to cover him by conservative political sites.

"He's a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren't captured."

The Trump, in attacking McCain, demeaned POWs and Republicans are clearly using the draft dodger's words against him.

If he had been a serious candidate, it would have ruined him.
