The interesting part is that there are millions of kids like him all over the world that may snap or may not snap , i don't think it has anything to do with policies and guns , if the disturbed mind wants to do something it will find ways. I believe the issue is sociocultural , if your society is highly competitive and people are separated into "winners" and "losers" from a very young age those left behind will always be edgy .

It'd advise you to get out more, but then, that could be no improvement whatsoever depending on where you're living. It will prevent these maniacs from getting the firepower necessary to kill school children, just as it will also prevent the not-so-insane killers we generally don't even hear about from doing their killing, and just as it will prevent a great number of suicides by gun. This country is rife with gun violence - a mass shooting like this is just one spectacular example of a widespread and continuous phenomenon we should have acted to halt long ago already.
