Well, i'm only aware of one prevailing argument for gun control attributed to situations involving the mentally ill. I'm sorry if you have a new radical concept that you've neglected to outline in your OP.

Schools, the Oregon Mall and the Cinemark were all posted "gun free" zones. They should just change the sign to say "killers welcome, no one will oppose you".

 

He didn't buy the guns. He was refused by Dick's Sporting Goods because he refused to go through a background check and didn't want to wait the required length of time. His STUPID family did. Now, how utterly STUPID is that to bring guns into your home when you have a 20-year old unstable person living there?

BTW, you want new laws. I think there should be new laws that anytime someone like this comes in to purchase a gun, refuses to have a background check on them, and doesn't want to wait for the required wait time.....they should be turned in and checked out by the police. Both things he didn't want to do should raise red flags.

And BTW, why is it the press is choosing to print these OLD pictures that makes it look like he was currently a young kid? He wasn't. He was 20 years old. That's all about creating sympathy for him, IMO. And that should also stop. I have ZERO sympathy for this mass murderer.

Dan Holmes, a local landscaper and a friend of Nancy Lanza, mother of 20-year-old suspected gunman Adam Lanza, said she also was a collector.

“She had a pretty extensive gun collection,” Holmes said.
“She was a collector, she was pretty proud of that.
She always mentioned that she really loved the act of shooting.”


Holmes recalled that she said she was able to “focus in” while shooting.

And look at the Trayvon Martin photo. The media had an updated photo of him, but they mostly showed him as a kid.

There is one quote by an anonymous poster in the area that proves, if true, that it was planned. You cannot state either way unless you know more so yours is just opinion.
