All 50 states prohibit closely related couples from marriage because "GAY marriage' isn't about equality and is instead inequality by design for the benefit of the gays.

 

It was the first step, laid out in the Constitution.

 

That would be an argument for extending marriage to any two consenting adults who desire marriage. "GAY marriage" is about special treatment for the benefit of gays. Inequality by design.

 

The north even then was largely anti slavery and of course they didn't want the blacks in the south flooding into the north just like we don't want the Hispanics from the south flooding in now. Doesn't make them or us racist.

 

Yeah, the topic of the thread. For some reason, we stopped shaming people that became pregnant out of wedlock. This is one of the greatest attributes to poverty. Stop subsidizing it.

 

Again I reject the premise if your post that if we can't reach utopia then we encourage and support nothing and do not encourage and support and sanction what is best for the children.

 

I told you I don't care about Palin, abstinance works when you practice it and birth control is readily and widely available, more so than ever.

And we still have this cultural shift towards out of wedlock birth and single mothers and children not being raised in the nuclear family and what appears to be a social acceptance of it.

I'll try to make this quick. I know a woman who raised 4 children for 25 years while her and her husband fought like cats and dogs, showed each other total disrespect and NO affection and set a horrible example of what marriage is to their children.
Now all four have , guess what, relationship problems !!...and parental respect problems, one even hit her mother.

Yet this woman is totally against gay marriage because the gay's children might see the gay couple hugging and kissing , showing each other warmth and kindness and respect....and she thinks that will "turn" their kids gay!

Birth of a child obligates only two people in the world to provide and care for that child. The mother who gave birth and the man who caused her to do so. Presumed to be the husband if she is married. Without those two, the child has only the hope that someone else will voluntarily assume those obligations.
