    The cynical view would be that they upped it to murder to assure an acquittal for their mate. I don't know Texas law though.....

    Yes an extremely poor excuse, but probably sufficient when the defendant is a white cop and the deceased is black.

    There is no evidence it was murder

    She committed a wrongful death as if she ran a red light and killed someone

    That usually gets the perp a few years in jail if not probation

    Except that she is white and the dead guy is black

    The President, the Governor, the Pope, the police chief, a Supreme Court justice, your father, mother, brother, sister, your spouse, child, or yourself?

    The grand jury returned the murder charge on their own. The evidence is pretty damning. She put her key in the lock but it flashed red. He was lying on the floor in the living room right in front of the tv and couch, a full room away from the door. He either just got up or was retreating.
    After shooting him she texted her partner / side piece.

    The victim had an ironing board and iron pulled out in clear site. Plenty of clues that it wasn't her apartment.

    Nope negligent homicide. She shot a property owner who was trying to defend himself. She can go flip burgers in prison.
