    I despise the brainwashed democrats not willing to compromise an inch while they've lost power to levels of 1929 across the board. That's pre-Roosevelt power. It's 89 YEARS of power change in less than a decade.

    While I don't agree with the method of doing so I do concur with the implication that we are doing really very well as a country if we can just get rid of the awful morally, socially and politically repugnant excrescence that is our sitting President. Even the present cadre of fawning lickspittles that he has managed to plaster roundabout himself has not yet seriously damaged our prosperity or our freedom, though that is not for any lack of trying on their part. Perhaps if we can kick most of them to the curb in November we can restore some measure of sanity and unity to our country.

    Compromise is how we lost it. Sanders popularity proved that most people don't want conservatism OR conservatism lite. Unfortunately the election was close because we stayed home and the conservatives came out and so a technical fluke came to your rescue. That will not happen in 2020 or even 2018 IF we get off our stupid asses and VOTE this time

    Some people have declared that the United States is not a democracy, but rather a republic. Whatever that means. But if that is the case, I'd rather live in a democracy.

    Here in Indonesia (my country but other countries have these also) we have:

    Multi party politics. Proportional representation in parliament. A directly elected President (as opposed to anonymous people casting votes on your behalf). Disclaimer: we are not perfect, but we strive to do better as opposed to thinking everything is rainbows and flowers.

    If you think your system is better, tell me how creating a complicated set of laws to force all voters into Party A and Party B, is so beautiful.

    American is first in only three things....

    1; We have more of our citizens in prison per capita than any other county.

    2; We have more religious fundamentalists who take their religions literally than any other county\

    3; And we spend more on defense than the next 25 highest defense spending countries combined, and all 25 are among our closest allies (and most of that money goes to line the pockets of defense contractors as subsidies, and NOT towards actual defense work.)

    All during a time when the economy was in serious recession, we had 2 wars going on, one of which was under false pretenses and a serious housing crisis among other things. In hindsight I can let it slide considering our state of affairs. Besides Obama is no longer president.
