yea I guess I'm making a bit of a criticism here. really though I just think it's distracting to his message. I'm left wondering who Talking Points is. and then I think, well it's Bill O himself, but then that's just weird that he doesn't take credit for his positions. anyway, this is neither a here nor a there.

 

I agree it can be distracting, but what he's doing is the equivalent of the royal "we' that was popularized in the 20's through the 40's in print and broadcasting. Edward R Murrow had a show in which he referred to the show's name much like Billy is......I think its kind of gimmicky myself.

..and yet somehow you people live a lower quality of life. I guarantee you I live the same quality of life as a Euro who makes twice as much as I do because living costs are exceptionally cheaper here.

Clothes, Cars, Consumer Goods, all are far cheaper and affordable here than in Europe. Those are the things that count. Health Care and Education would be more affordable but Government intervenes through well meaning but badly administered programs that allow colleges to raise prices of tuition, because Government can afford to pay it. If Government loans weren't available, and everyone had to pay cash up front, you'd see college admission prices drop like a rock.

Same with health care, but for some reason people hate paying cash up front for these things.

Ludicrous. Obama is fully in support of capitalism. I have seen no evidence that he is racist, and he has specifically said that he is not socialist. Also, you have a bizarre style of posting, it doesn't help. Try English.

 

If a nation adopts all of the planks of the socialist platform, then its de facto socialist, even if the engine that keeps the socialism going is partially capitalist.

I don't want to settle for the most minimal capitalism necessary to keep the welfare state funded. That isn't good enough for me.

 

No, you have a capitalist economy. This is how capitalist economies work. There is no socialist platform. Do you mean socialism for the rich? The bailouts? That is not socialism. What do you mean? The basic unemployment benefit and pension etc? These are what capitalism finds it has to adopt to prevent revolution.

 

There was never this golden age that conservatives love to claim. In fact as early as the 1790s there were protests such as the Whiskey Rebellion against Washington's taxation of farmers.

To say rebellion in this country began in the 1960's is another joke. The late 19th and early 20th century was a hot bed of radical activity.

World War I as well. Woodrow Wilson created a sedition act to jail anyone who spoke against the war publicly. The most famous case was Eugene Debs who received 3.4% of the popular votes in a presidential election running as a socialist. He received these votes from a prison where he was being incarcerated for exercising his right to free speech.

As far as the founding fathers building this country -- I think you are forgetting about the benefit of forced labor from slaves, and free land stolen from Native Americans...

The Khmer Rouge was the result of the US bombing of Cambodia in 1969-70 where 10% of the population were killed and the country virtually destroyed. It wasn't really a left wing thing at all, it was the peasants against the cities, who they believed were complicit with the west and the bombing.

 

What about the role of the Chinese in supporting the Khmer Rouge? That introduces a complication into your world view doesn't it?

The Vietnam War, could be said, began when U.S. Military Advisors began helping South Vietnam ~ Aug, 1950. Officially, our involvement in the Vietnam war was over in 1975.

The Bulk of the War was fought under DEM Presidents. We got out under Nixon.

Ronald Regan's years as a President was 1981 -1989 !!!

HOW THE FLUCK COULD REGAN HAVE "BACKED" POL POT BY BOMBING CAMPODIA DURING THE VIETNAM WAR ?!?!?
