I'm not the one posting a counter factual to how the military actually works. However if you can't explain it because it's not true, and you just dropped a talking point that no one has ever questioned you on, than I understand perfectly!

 

We are all offering talking points. If you don't believe what I say, I understand. But if we went to court, I'm certain I could readily prove all that I've said about this.

This is just an internet forum, not a court of law.

 

Good grief, I'm not asking for a legal deposition! If you think "diversity is our strength" and it's benefited your mission it should be fairly obvious to explain how.

My suspicion is that you've just repeated "diversity is our strength" as some sort of secular liturgy and have not really taken it to it's logical conclusion.

Miami Gardens police arrest black man for trespassing 56 times -- at the store where he works

In the city of Miami Gardens, outside of Miami, FL, the police use aggressive campaigns of stop-and-frisk and absurd arrests to bolster their records, to the great detriment of the African-American majority who live there. For example, a young man named Earl Sampson has been stopped by Miami Gardens police 258 times; they've searched him more than 100 times; and they've arrested him for trespassing 56 times. He's never been convicted of anything apart from simple possession of small amounts of marijuana.

Sampson's trespassing arrests occurred at his place of work, a convenience store called the 207 Quickstop; Sampson was repeatedly arrested for trespassing there, over the loud objections of his employer, Alex Saleh, who owns the store, and who explained to police that Sampson was not trespassing in his store.

When Saleh gathered video evidence that showed the police had falsified their arrest reports and violated the rights of his customers, he was targeted for police harassment, including falsified vehicle stops and personal threats. Saleh is suing for federal civil rights violations, alleging that Miami Gardens police "routinely, under the direction of the city’s top leaders, directed its officers to conduct racial profiling, illegal stops and searches and other activities to cover up illegal misconduct."

Saleh, whose store is tucked between a public park and working-class neighborhoods, contends that Miami Gardens police officers have repeatedly used racial slurs to refer to his customers and treat most of them like they are hardened criminals.

“Police line them up and tell them to put their hands against the wall. I started asking myself ‘Is this normal?’ I just kept thinking police can’t do this,’’ Saleh said.

Last year, Saleh, armed with a cache of videos, filed an internal affairs complaint about the arrests at his store. From that point, he said, police officers became even more aggressive.

One evening, shortly after he had complained a second time, a squadron of six uniformed Miami Gardens police officers marched into the store, he says. They lined up, shoulder to shoulder, their arms crossed in front of them, blocking two grocery aisles.

“Can I help you?” Saleh recalls asking. It was an entire police detail, known as the department’s Rapid Action Deployment (RAD) squad, whom he had come to know from their frequent arrest sweeps. One went to use the restroom, and five of them stood silently for a full 10 minutes. Then they all marched out.

Now imagine if he had been white and had been stopped by the IRS for some reason or another that many times. How many angry, hate filled bigots would be saying that we all need to exercise our 2d Amendment rights and blast away the government tyrants.

So many of you delusionals still insist there is no racism and you claim to hate government repression, so here is your chance to talk up.

 

The racism is against the wrong person.

 

Here is a kicker for you. I am a white male who has been subjected to racism for most of my life from other white people. Why? because my father was German who fought in Africa in WW2 .. The colour of skin is irrelevant to those who just look for something different in another person in order to play out their own failings on. Racists are just scared little people who are afraid.

 

It's in the news, but the issue seems more complicated than you seem to describe. I agree that something odd is going on with all of the crazy arrests at work, but I don't think it's racial. The Mayor, former Mayor, Police Chief, and Deputy Police Chief are all Black.

Several New Mexico State Police officers are under investigation after at least one of them fired shots at a minivan full of children last month.

According to KRQE, an officer pulled over Oriana Ferrell in Taos for going 71 mph in a 55 mph zone on Oct. 28. Ferrell had brought her five children from Tennessee on an educational trip.

Dashcam footage obtained by KRQE late last week shows Ferrell and the officer arguing over the ticket before she drives off. The officer chases the mother down and pulls her over again.

The second traffic stop eventually escalates into a struggle, with the officer trying to pull the African-American mother out of the vehicle and her 14-year-old son getting out to defend his mom. But the boy returns to the minivan after the officer aims a Taser at him.

“Sir, I pulled back over, I didn’t run away,” Ferrell pleads at one point. “You see my children. I’m not doing anything wrong. I’m just trying to take them to the Rio Grande.”

Eventually both the mother and the son struggle with the officer before getting back in the minivan. The officer then uses his baton to smash the passenger side window where the 14-year-old boy is sitting.

As the family attempts to flee, a second officer fires at least three shots at the vehicle.

Ferrell was later arrested and charged with child abuse, fleeing an officer and possession of drug paraphernalia. The 14-year-old boy was charged with battery. The other children were taken into the custody the New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department. They were later placed in the care of a family known to Ferrell, according to court documents obtained by The Taos News.

At a hearing on Tuesday, Eighth Judicial District Judge Jeff McElroy reviewed the dashcam footage and said that the “court is concerned about the nature of these charges.”

Defense attorney Alan Maestas explained to the judge that Ferrell was fleeing from the officer because she feared for the safety of her children.

“She was flat-out scared that something was going to happen to her children,” he said. “We ought to talk about the stupidity and recklessness of shooting at a car that has five children in it.”

“If someone ought to be charged with child abuse, it ought to be the New Mexico State Police,” Maestas pointed out.

In charging documents, however, officers argued that the shots were fired “in an attempt to keep the vehicle from leaving.”

Ultimately the cop got fired for shooting at the van which had 5 children.

No, racism is continuing. However in this situation, where does racism fit in? The city is 80% black, the leadership of both the city and police department is black, so who is being racist against whom?
