Would you accept facial recognition software as an alternative to photo ID?

You do know that every poll has the allowance for local reps from each party to challenge voter legality. How incompetent have they been to find nothing. The gop is given the opportunity to report voter fraud for enforcement. You walk into a voting precinct, there are literally, voter “ cops” from each party. So get real, it’s not happening. Maybe you ought to volunteer and catch a few. Lots of money and jail time. You may even get a reward ha ha.

I think only republican registered voters should have to show IDs . It’s obvious they’re the ones that need watching. We’ll call it....gop profiling.

I would accept that only republicans be required to show ID. They’re the ones causing the most problems,

Local reps without a voter ID law have no tools at their disposal to ferret out illegal voters. They are traffic cops with no speedometer or radar to tell if someone is speeding or not.

    Excellent topic.

I haven't yet read over the entire article from your link, but I have to admit my role in parts of this. I never dreamed people would actually elect Trump, so I focused on voting against Clinton by doing a write-in candidate. I was tired of how the Democratic Party was going against what I thought many voters wanted, choosing the candidates they wanted. The choices seemed to be made less on popular appeal than on party elitist appeal. It still seems that's the preferred method of choosing candidates, and it seems that party elite exists in a reality quite different from the mainstream. My take on all this is that the "swing-voters" exist when candidates appeal to a broader group and are not so divisive. Next election will show that kind of polarity that eliminates the swingers.

Anyway, I voted against Clinton and as a result, Trump won. No more write-ins for me! :)

The idea of having to carry and show ID seems so totalitarian to me that I wonder why one who supports freedom and independence would support the authoritarian approach to this. Personally, I'm not completely against flashing my driver's license when I sign in, but how long before technology creeps in?

    No kidding, dagosa. Agreed.

The NC Case (referenced from 2018.) Is just the tip of the iceberg (that was a dry run for what the GOP is planning to do in every precinct in 2020).

Textbook modus operandi that the GOP is planning on implementing nationwide in November.

Do you understand that such technology would put your face into a system that could be used for many other things besides voting? My question is really, how far are we willing to take this ID stuff?

We've gotten off-topic here, but my thought on the stuff that was going on here in NC was that the purging wouldn't be investigated until after the elections and after candidates took office. Even then, it took a long time to sort through the mess. And that was only the beginning of a big mess.

    And I did that.
Both stunk soooo baaaad, I said it wasn't worth the effort.

I was correct. Look at what is occupying the WH. But both would have been a disaster.

I wish the Indpendents would grow to over 60% of the population.
Screw the corrupt 2 party good cop/bad cop system.

Once the technology becomes cheap, but not until.
Local voting precincts are reluctant to invest much in a system they use only once a year. That’s the one goid thing. Diversity is a great buffer.

Yea, because the left does not wear MAGA hats for which the right risks to be punched on the mouth.

It’s getting closer, year by year. In our state, I’m free to register with any party for the primaries, then register Indy afterwards. I would like open primaries though.

That is a really interesting (and salient point).

For example, if it took months to sort out (and some candidates had already taken office) it could actually affect who had the Majority in a closely-divided legislative body.

    Yes, it is.

And how would you know that the republican casting her ballot is who she says she is?

My state has open primaries. But one has to vote straight party ticket.

Sounds like a good reason not to support a fraud.
