The majority of states have some legislation for employees who need to leave work to go vote. I have always been able to vote during an 11 hour polling window before or after work, and still work all day with no down time. Texas employers have to allow people a "reasonable time" to take off to voter (generally understood here to be about 2 hours).

Time off to vote is a state issue, not federal. A whole day off to vote is ridiculous. Talk about privilege.

Then you can drive, can't write a check, can't apply for credit, can't get auto insurance....can't do a lot of things that life in America requires.

Most cities these days have a program for a free ride to the DMV to get an ID for those who can't get there, but somehow can manage to get other places where they'll need that ID.

I always found a way to vote in my working years and I put in long days leaving the house at 4am and getting home at 6pm.

The last thing we need to do is make it easy for people to vote. Sounds like something the Kremlin prefers

So what's the problem with requiring ID to vote?

It's easy enough and if you want to vote you can do so.

Makes it difficult for illegals to vote. Can't have that.

Absolutely....it’s a federal offense with severe penalties and the voter fraud incidences are so low with these penalties, they’re practically non existent.,I feel more confident in that then leaving a letter in the mail box to be picked up.

So how do you know that a voter is who they say they are?

Exactly. There is no problem with showing an ID to vote. I don't even take my voter registration card...just show my drivers license so they find me in the system. Easy-peasy.

Or a citizen to vote 2 or 3 or 4 times under different names...with no ID.

So, no ID. Go in an tell them any name and forge that pseudonym on a piece of paper saying that's "you". How would they catch up with you to file fraud charges?

There is no excuse for not showing a valid photo ID.

. Laughable.you're more worried about something that hasn’t happened then election interference that has . Oh if it favors republicans cheating is ok. But if it’s protecting voter rights it’s not....amazing.

    Ha ha....
Name all the times illegals go to vote in a US election ...
I thought illegals tried not to get caught. Are you still hung up on those 20,000 busses needed to transport millions of illegals to the polls without being noticed by incompetent gop poll observers ? Too funny. Do the math...

I'm not worried at all. I'm asking you about you would go about determining whether a voter is who they say they are.

I have no idea what you're referring to.

How would anyone know if people go vote more than once or if illegal's vote? If you don't need a photo ID how would the law catch up with you?

Seriously, have you ever voted yourself ?
Really, that is the most delusional statement of attempted voter fraud I’ve ever heard. “ a citizen” is going to take a chance on 5 years and thousands on each count, guessing Name’s on a roll of registered voters that are checked off in order to add 4 votes for the local dog catcher, or funnier yet, in an election that’s decided by millions. That is the silliest voter fraud assumption anyone ever made.

THAT is absolute delusional....I think I’ve repeated this four times.....there are incompetent Republican observers at every poll, and the penalties are very severe....years in jail and thousands in fines. I have never worried about individual voters. I worry about hacking computers and changing the vote count BY REPUBLICANS and their foreign lackeys..

How many times have you voted more then once ? answer that question.
Why would an illegal who is in hiding, go vote in an American election. Have you ever voted ? Unbelievable assertions. You do know you have to be registered first don’t you .

Okay. Observers. Got it. And how do they know whether a voter is who they say they are?

Of course you don’t. You’re delusional states indicate you’ve never been to a voting poll.

Wow! The personal attacks. Not cool, friend. Try actually stating a position and backing it with reason.
