Party loyalists is one of the number one enablers of tyrants, despots, demagogues, and megalomaniac it should be avoided, the Republican party in the United States, has nothing to do with Republicanism, like when leftist authoritarians call themselves liberal, forever tarnishing this most beautiful human concept. In both you cases, however you see Vile people concealing their true nature behind noble names, this has been one of humanity most enduring challenges.
Also keep in mind Karl Marx in the manifesto of the communist party did declare for the whole world to hear that one of the objectives of the internationalist socialist movement was to infiltrate liberal and democratic party's in western democracies, and use it as a tool to transform society from within.

A bunch of words signifying nothing. The Democratic Party has made their stances on issues 100% clear and for most I vehemently oppose those stances. The level of hate mongering, bigotry, racism, attacking the vast majority of Americans, endless efforts at every possible social division, non-stop attack on the United States, our history, or military, or people - I could go on and on. In my view the Democratic Party has become a corporate fascism party exactly the same as the NAZI party in the 1930s - other than they are anti-nationalists, which is even worse, and anti-blue collar workers and average people whom the Democratic Party openly hates and ridicules - which you see by most Democrats on this forum.

How many messages posted and threads started by Democrats hatefully attacking Christians and Christianity - who are the vast majority of Americans - while not whispering a word against the most racist, murderous and anti-secularism religion of all - Islam? None stop attack of farmers and ranchers, anyone who lives in a small town or rural - and ANYONE who does not 100% submit to the ideological dogma of the Democratic Party's leftwing of the moment - which can be the exactly opposite of what it was the day before... and I could go on and on.

Third party voting is just an idiotic thing to do, to just throw away a vote on a meaningless gesture that usually results in electing the candidate furthest away from the view of that 3rd party candidate. The USA is a two party system - I live in REALITY - not platitudes and dogma - and I will vote straight Republican in every election for every office. Note, in the past I was a Democrat precinct election judge, a union steward in a packinghouse, and member of more than one Democratic club. The Democratic Party is THE DIAMETRIC OPPOSITE of what it was just 20 years, even 10. I can quote EVERY Democrat in Congress now who was back then 1.) vehement opposing illegal immigration and if you check they all voted to build a border wall/fence. The Democratic Party USED to OPPOSE mass cheap immigrant labor, which breaks unions and shatters blue collar worker wages and negotiating power.

For any topic, the Democratic Party engages in a who-can-be-more-leftwing radical. I 100% favor equality for gays and certainly SSM. But in the contest of who can be more radical, this became demanding the any man can stalk little girls in remote park bathrooms and female athletes have to compete with 6"4' males complete with penis and testicles claiming he feels like a woman - and other crap like that.

Now, the Democratic Party has gone 100% anti capitalism, 100% socialist, 100% unlimited cheap labor migrants pouring in by the millions more, and 100% pro foreign child labor sweatshops.

The Democratic Party is now more warmongering and ranting racism and bigotry against Russia and Russians that Joseph McCarty ever did.

Demanded PCism that is destroying countless careers is the leftwing's total war to eliminate freedom of speech and freedom of thought. The Democratic Party openly calls for acts of terrorism against anyone they perceive as opposite.

The Democratic Party's VP candidates ADULT son attacked a group of Republicans peacefully going to a rally with explosives, incendiaries and a chemical attack - and not ONE Democrat Official ANYWHERE in the county - nor even ONE Democrat talking head on TV criticized it. Some Democrats on this forum cheered the attack.

I see the Democratic Party's war against free speech, cheering the demise of attorney-client privilege, untroubled by Comey and Mueller now having granted 11 criminal Democrats immunity from any crimes in exchange for NOTHING - while covering up records to put an innocent general by the FBI's own finding in prison for not doing 1/100th what some of those Democrats did - a total corruption of our justice system.

I go on and on. I truly believe the Democratic Party has become a domestic terrorist organization rightly called the Corporate Fascist International Party and that is should be outlawed the same as Germany outlawed their fascist NAZI political party.

I think of a libertarian as being an ultra Republican(??) Recently, I witnessed a liberal describe himself as libertarian, which I thought was funny.

Socialist (one of the three!). Though I'm a liberal progressive socialist, so today's Hard Left doesn't recognise me. They're mostly Liberal Progressive Socialists .. and that capitalisation makes all the difference.

Party loyalty is for pathetic losers and clowns.

Vote for the individual- it’s what intelligent people do.

The right has swung right into authoritarianism. They want the US to be like China or N Korea.

Note for example the reverence of the flag. Even soldiers who took the oath to defend the Constitution with their lives, don't understand the oath they took. They think the symbol and ra ra crap is more important than what it represents.

When I first encountered the term during the early 1980 a Libertarian did indeed seem to be an ultra-Republican but somehow by the late 1990s the definition seemed to have morphed into being whatever the self-avowed Libertarian said that he was -- or that he believed in.

I always saw a libertarian as one who wanted to extend rights but not forced to pay for them. If you want legal pot fine, but don't demand I buy it for you.

Of course, I was a Republican. It is Trump and his flock who are Republican in name only. Yes, Trump was elected with party help and has destroyed it. Republicans support free trade, have compassion for those less fortunate than us, support their allies abroad, do not sidle up to murdering dictators, support environmental protection, are not divisive in their conduct, support a free press, respect our
institutions, and don't recreate history on a daily basis.
