For a start, the notion of "community" would suggest a commonality between people. How for example, does one explain that over 90% of Israeli Jews support the oppression of the Palestinian people, a disproportionately higher amount of British diaspora Jews support the political party that has the highest amount of "Friends Of Israel" members (ie the Conservatives) and that two-thirds of British Jews who have a view on the last Israeli election would have voted for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party?

Well for Israel I think the information which is fed into them from birth. ...and I checked and it did look like there are some polls coming out in the UK which say what you say but which is quite different to a study I looked at 2 or 3 years ago.

With British Jews I suspect it must be information as well. They were told there was a massive increase in antisemitism after Israel's destruction of Gaza and the mass deaths. Now as to polling. There was an organisation can't remember it's name but it set itself up and decided to show how antisemetic the UK is. Theresa May took it up as gospel when absolutely everyone has said it had no credibility. One jfjfp person said they received the poll to complete and they read it and got the message that they should be terrified..so how questions are written in polls can make the difference in the answer as well as putting ideas into the person. Do you not remember the ridiculous going on about anti semitism there was after the pummeling of Gaza and this was a deliberate strategy to back up Israel whereas I seem to remember that hardly anyone went on the march to support Israel during that war whereas on previous ones many more did.

As for the Tories, well maybe they have a bob or two more than the average and because they do not suffer persecution, they have no need to work to make society fairer and so on.

It is hard if you are a Jew not to go mainstream. Many stop being jews rather than go against the accepted view which still seems to be 100% support for Israel and not admitting she has ever done a thing wrong. However there are other places where Jews whose conscience cannot go with this can now go but it is not easy for them. There is a lot of support for Palestinians from British Jews and I think that should be appreciated as well.
