Are you comfortable with Donald Trump so far?

His appointments are definitely a mixed bag for me. His education secretary seems like a terrible choice. But then he has some good ones also. Overall, I think they'll do well. As for Trump himself, I expect more stupid speeches from him, but I really don't know what to expect in terms of action. He's certainly promised action, and he said some wacky things in his inaugural speech, like that stuff about giving power back to us, which all has me wondering just what to expect. How can he do what he says? Doesn't his election prove that we have power? He never offers anything in the way of substance, and this worries me.

 

I wonder why the Clinton Foundation is drying up! One would think with the extra free time that hill and bill would be helping poor kiddies all over the world ,( they are so compasionate) yet million dollar donations from foreign leaders have stopped. Why?

 

Yeah, I don't know what to expect for his Supreme Court appointments, but from what I've seen I don't have too much hope that they'll be good choices. He does seem to favor cronyism and appointing some out-there characters. Then again, if his picks are not of a progressive mindset, and we can confident that they won't be, then I suppose we can at least expect to see constitutional rights and restrictions upheld. Progressives will hate it, but then they want change where it's often just not needed. Did we really need gay marriage, for instance? To me, it's far from a priority.

That's the good I see in Trump and his administration - we should have much better priorities, including among his appointments.

Well the Trump Foundation was shut down as a corrupt fraud so in comparison the Clinton Foundation looks pretty solid. But my guess is no money is going to flow to the US since we now know that Russia has bought the government lock stock and barrel.

I think he will be okay, not bad and not great just okay, I suspect he will have a hard foreign policy on the areas of national defense and trade but its time we take on China for a change we are a superpower its time we act like one and reign them in some. As for terrorism lets get those bastards properly we are more than capable of showing the terrorists what true terror is, so we need a President who will take the gloves off and hit back.

 

The electoral college was put in place for a reason, it gives all the states a voice in who is elected, not the most populous areas. It is fair and only seems unfair to the political party that lost the election and wants to whine awhile. Maybe the squeaky wheel won't get the oil, so to speak.

George Will was a vocal anti-trumper in 2016. He made several very controversial remarks. He's long been discredited in such matters.

Critics here were saying that Trump has made a huge blunder in making so many promises - the usual is to underpromise and over deliver. We are already seeing disillusion follow Trump. There will continue to be a cadre who will fervently believe he could do no wrong but there is also a larger group that will rapidly drop out as thier pet project is either put on hold or not undertaken

 

Many right wingers are a hate cult who, like Scientology and Heaven's Gate, believe that their "messianic" leader can do no wrong. In the end, everybody loses because of such deluded thinking.
